Is anyone having problems with tapatalk? I now (started a few days ago randomly?) have to log in with my password every time I open tapatalk and click on the MM forum. I cleared cache, re entered my tapatalk login. Still being prompted to enter my password every time which is pretty annoying. Any other ideas?

Just for some reason got curious and looked at SE's schedule and saw "NCCAR". Looked it up and it's a "12" turn 2 mile road course at the top of North Carolina off I-95. It's 1 hour and 20 minutes away from where I am in Richmond. Got me very intrigued as its the same time away as dominion raceway is.
I know it's last minute but I'm posting because HPDE's are 269 as well as racing and TT. They have a discount running for some reason in SE region. Really got me thinking twice about not driving until late Fall. If anything I'll be keeping this in mind for next season if I'm not going.

Anybody in NOVA around the weekend of August 13th? Looking for a flat and cool garage space to do some 120k maintenance items on the 4Runner. No tools or adult supervision needed.

1991 Miata, 196k, all belts replaced (including timing) 5k ago. Odometer miles are not "driven" miles, it has spent the last 15 years being pulled behind an RV (still has the sweet tow bar attached, it looks like it bolts on at the tow hooks). Interior is in good shape, soft top looks good and comes with the factory hardtop. It was just inspected in July. Valve cover leaks, the engine bay is very dirty, and the passenger window is very slow and it needs a right rear wheel bearing, I haven't tried tightening it yet, but lets just assume it needs to be replaced. All panels have matching VIN numbers. Needs a little love but it's a nice solid car.

I saw a few blurbs pop up that were based off this Detroit News article, but I just now read the source article and there's some interesting tidbits.
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/general-motors/2016/08/04/sources-mid-engine-corvette-due/88054852/">http://www.detroitnews.com/story/busine ... /88054852/</a><!-- m -->
Some salient points:
Quote:The C8 is expected to be equipped with performance innovations like an active-aerodynamic system to enhance downforce, according to Car & Driver’s Don Sherman, who has been following the car’s development since 2014. The magazine says the next-generation Corvette will be powered by the tried-and-true small-block pushrod V-8 to keep costs down.
Quote:When Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen was asked by Motor Trend last fall if a Cadillac “halo” car based on a mid-engine Corvette might be in the cards, he replied: “It has to be one of the options that we consider. In the future there are going to be some architectures inside the corporation that will remain purely Cadillac, but then there are others where it just isn’t economically feasible to enter segments by trying to do a unique Cadillac. Then you look at what’s available in terms of corporate assets. And I’m sure you’d agree that a new, very advanced Corvette platform wouldn’t be a bad place to start.”
I was just thinking recently about the Corvette and how does an automaker go about changing the image of a car with a long history and a very established clientele base. I feel like Chevrolet has done a great job of shifting perceptions of the Corvette starting with the C5 Z06, and with a mid-engined version it could be another huge step forward in perception.
It might price some of the customer base out, but in a way that'll be a good thing. It would give the Camaro and its high-performance variants more room to breath, rather than having to compete directly with the Vette.

Seidio Surface case in Black - $15
- Would keep but they don't sell just the "Convert" cover anymore that goes over the Surface case to make it rugged.
SupCase "Unicorn Beetle Pro" (WTF kinda name is that?) with shitty screen protector removed - $10
- No need for it when I get the above mentioned Seidio Convert

I tinker with a lot of stuff simultaneously and don't really know where the best place to put this stuff would be... Do I create a new thread for everything or just put it all under one? I don't know. I decided it would probably be easier if I just put it under one. If there's issue with this let me know and I'll try to set it up to follow the format.
Tinted some family cars.

The rear glass on the Camry hasn't been tinted yet. The quarter windows on the rear doors are such a pain to work on. The gaskets are incredibly dirty and impossible to clean. On top of that, it's difficult to cut the tint to the right size on those. You can't slide the tint under the gasket easily on these because of it's age/construction and if you cut it too small you end up with gaps around the edges where light shines through. It's better imo to cut the tint smaller and have gaps rather than try to cut it to gasket size or even a little over gasket size, and slide it under the gasket, but my OCD tends to have me trying to get a perfect fit every time which results in several do-overs for those quarter windows.

I'd prefer darker for the rear window but I only have 35%. Maybe I could cheat a bit and just lay another 35% on top.

Ideally when one is tinting a vehicle, it should be prepared by cleaning it as thoroughly as possible. Tint will highlight every spec of dirt and not adhere at all to surfaces that aren't properly prepared. Above was a bad idea but I had the exhaust currently being worked on so I couldn't easily pull it out to wash so I just tried to cut it carefully.

It ends up adding time and work but masking the gaskets if you can't remove the window, or even just remove the gaskets, is the best method. The Dakota I did, I had to re-do the driver window 3 times because of dirt getting caught under the tint every time.

Dakota threw a P0132 and I was like WTF? Put it on the scanner and saw the upstream O2 sensor was just sitting at 1.0V not changing through off, start, idle, rev etc. and it wouldn't enter closed loop, so I put it on the lift and saw this:
![[Image: IMG_20160801_124459_zps7upunijc.jpg]](http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n233/FinalTheorem47/Project%20Me/IMG_20160801_124459_zps7upunijc.jpg)

Some animal (probably dead ( I hope ( and that it was painful))) chewed through a very oily and gunk/unhealthy chemical covered O2 sensor pigtail.
![[Image: IMG_20160801_124513_zpse9j5v9mt.jpg]](http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n233/FinalTheorem47/Project%20Me/IMG_20160801_124513_zpse9j5v9mt.jpg)
Bit of a derp moment, to make removing the O2 sensor easier, I just cut the pigtail because I was thinking I'd have to replace the sensor until my dad walked in and just asked why I need to replace it when I can just repair it. I cut it too close to the sensor body to fix so now I need to buy another when I could of just repaired this one.

I'm not sure if I'll be at both or what. If not, I'll be there Saturday. Not sure if I can get a whole weekend off from work.
Have to test these new tires!

Nothing is final, but here is a rough idea of what's going down:
Date: October 9th
Location: Augusta County Government Center in Verona
Each school will have a different colored shirt and the price of the shirt will be rolled into the registration fee. Matt is working on the T-shirt design so hopefully we'll have something soon.
If we can locate the past trophy, it will be awarded to the school that wins. Scoring has not been finalized, but it will probably be pax based.
Since it is on a Sunday, we may have a cookout or something at JMU the night before so people can travel, mingle, sleep, then head down ~20 minutes to Verona. I'm down to have the cookout, but I may have to work Saturday so I'm not sure yet. There IS another BRR SCCA Event in Verona on Saturday, so you can double dip if you want!
Details are definitely not finalized yet, so if anyone has any tips on who else to contact, please let me know.
