| The new place (Garage) |

So, not sure this warrants it's own project thread, but id like input, because a lot of alum have been through 1 or 2 garages.
Per the plans it is an oversized 2 car, but when you compare it to existing 3 cars on other plans, it is the same size, just no 3rd door.
Specs:
Front = 19'8 x 23'5
Rear = 14 x 13'11
9ft x16ft entry
14ft ceiling
This is gonna take some time....
Aesthetics:
Smooth out the rough finished walls and paint the ceiling and walls white.
Install 1/4in 4x8 paneling from cinder block up to protect the walls and paint this a dark grey
Immediate - Seal the concrete
Future - Free Flow Racedeck
Storage/workspace:
These pop up for sale just about every other month at Costco. So as soon as the pop back up the plan is to mount these above the garage door, side by side.
This is where all those tubs on the floor will be stored, seasonal stuff (summer toys, beach chairs) and seasonal decorations (Xmas tree, etc) will go.

![[Image: 6NrCk3c.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/6NrCk3c.jpg)
My only concern is putting these above the cars = me having to move a car to get to stuff, but that space above the door is essentially useless other wise, and keeping it up there and somewhat out of site makes me think it will look much better than on the sides somewhere.
I am kind of at a stand still with organizing the garage until these go up.
Rubber Maid fast track to the left of the breaker boxes, to store yard tools. I like this stuff given the assortment of hooks and its relatively cheap.
![[Image: uaykfxv.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/uaykfxv.jpg)
Some sort of shelving near this space as well for yard stuff (Fertilizer, bug killer, etc)
Matching cabinet to the right of the tool box I snagged from my brother. Where the black/yellow tubs are currently.

![[Image: IOGxdhy.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/IOGxdhy.jpg)
Matching work bench next to the fridge and 3 cabinets above the work bench.

Yes I need to get the speaker wire channels to hide the speaker wires.
At some point build a sound proof box around the compressor and have a 75ft hose reel mounted on the wall or plumb air to the work bench, near the tool box and near the garage door.
Lighting:
Currently only have 3 "West VA Chandeliers" to light the whole garage.
I plan on getting about 10 of those 4ft dual LED tube light fixtures from Costco.
4 in the back and 3 above each car.
Stupid:
Hope to get a new TV for the living room, so I will rotate the tvs around and assuming they all stay working, on may end up in the garage above the workbench.
At some point id like to get a lift installed in the back, which is why I am trying to avoid wall mounted shelving, so I can move it based on where the lift may end up.

Since the "cool cars for sale that aren't yours" was getting hijacked by this anyway, let's all live vicariously through Our Jakeypants and benchrace your faaaaaaaaaaavo-rite choice for new Thiewsmobile.
Also, this will give the opportunity to call all you abarth retards what you are.
Personally, I'm firmly in the Boxster camp. It's got everything he wants and nothing he doesn't, and it's got tons of german parts with wires coming out so it's right up his alley. And budget. And it's a vert. And awesome.

Hello everyone! I've given up...
Roanoke might not be the best place to find an IT job, and Richmond isn't out of the picture, but I've been speaking with recruiters and some cool jobs are in the DC area. Accenture seems like a cool place and it's in Arlington. The problem is I don't know anything about it. I don't know the difference between Arlington and Alexandria or Reston or whatever. In my mind, it'll all Washington DC, which is not correct.
Can someone give me a run down of what the areas are? Where are the jobs, where is the commute bad, and where is it not? Apartments, yard sizes, etc. Where have you lived? I've only been to Nova 3 times in my life, so I don't know anything.
Thanks.

My name is Kyle, I am a senior Computer Science student at JMU. I have a 2012 Subaru WRX Limited that I bought about five months ago. I picked it up from Northern Virginia and drove to Harrisonburg having driven stick only once for all of 30 minutes in an early 2000 Ford Focus (very different clutch than a wrx). Now that I don't suck at driving my car I am interested in doing some auto cross and improve my skills as a driver. My WRX has SPT exhaust, Cobb short shifter, grimspeed front license plate relocator, vortex generator, rally armor mud flaps, and most importantly a factory Gold extended warranty until 100,000 miles or 2019. Considering a downpipe, protune, and flex fuel kit, but I will be waiting until I graduate for any go fast parts that will void my warranty. Of course I have hella horns waiting to be installed which means all I need is rotas and I will unlock the Subaru built in vape.
Also in the stable is my fiance's 2013 Infiniti G37xS.

We will meet in the R1 Parking lot before 4 PM and head out soon to Flag Pole knob, then back down Union or Switzer, and back to JMU. We should be back by 9PM.
Both trails are relatively easy and can be tackled by stock trucks and SUVS.

Selling both the Land Rovers! Feel free to share. White one - $3,250 obo and black one $5,000 obo. OR buy them both for $7,500.
1995 Land Rover Discovery (White Land Rover)- $3,250 obo
- Alpine White Exterior
- Tan Leather interior
- 3.9L V8
- 4WD with lockable diffs
- 135,000 miles
- Fully loaded
- Automatic Transmission
Features:
- Heated front seats
- 2 sunroofs
- Roof rack system with under storage
- Trailer hitch
- Power windows and heated mirrors
- A/C and heat (which work great!)
- Limited Slip Differential
- Upgraded speakers
Recent Maintenance:
- Brakes bled
- Tires rotated
- Oil changed
Needs/issues:
- Front windshield has a crack in it
- Sometimes it takes a few times to start (never had an issue)
- Tires in the near future
- Passenger fender could be replaced (I may do that if I can find one localish)... just some scuff marks and a CB antenna mount drilled through.
- Car sat over the summer, currently not starting due to a rodent chewing through the injector pigtails (this will be fixed before selling)
This is a great car. Gets ~15mpg. I bought it as a winter beater and ended up keeping it for a little longer because I was enjoying it so much. In the little time that I owned it I took it out on the beach in the OBX, all over the place in the snow and multiple other trips to WV, NC, DC and over VA.
Car is paid for clean title in hand.

- Brake booster
- Brake pads
- Brake rotors
- Master Cylinder
- New transmission put in
- Transfer case corrected
Needs/issues:
- Front windows aren't rolling down
- Brake booster should be removed and have RTV applied. It has a slight vacuum leak there
- Radio needs to be hooked up
- Has a high idle issue, only when in park. Once it gets in drive or reverse there is no issue
- Brakes are currently locking up. Not sure what is going on with that but I'll have this (hopefully) sorted out before sale
This is a awesome vehicle. For those that know I picked it up from SC as a project car since it "only" needed a transmission. It has been an ongoing project and I don't have time to push forward with it anymore. I was originally going to remove the parts from the black LR to the white one but ran out of time this winter.
Any questions holler!

| Bike (as in bicycle) Advice |

Hey guys. Tried searching for a thread on this because I thought I remembered one but couldn't find it.
Anyway, I've noticed recently that my metabolism has finally decided that it's going to slow down and I've put on some unwanted weight. I hate running and my shit knees don't really help in that regard either. I always loved riding my bike back when I was younger (did a few races) and thought that'd be a great way to get back in shape since I pretty much stopped once I got my license. Bonus points if it helps me out in my commute as well.
Anyway, back in the day I just used a mountain bike for everything but I don't think I need that now. I was thinking of getting a hybrid road bike but maybe have it lean a bit more towards mountain bike in case I want to take it on some light trails. For the most part though it will be used here around Hoboken (where the streets are very bumpy) and possibly ride it into NYC every now and then.
What I would like to have:
- Aluminum frame
- Front shock (preferably locking)
- Disc brakes
- Flat handlebar
- Under $750
That being said I am open to ideas and reasons why any of the above is a good or bad idea. If I do use it to commute I would have to take the ferry since the path (NJ to NYC subway basically) does not allow bikes during commuting hours. Good news there is I wouldn't really have to worry about locking it up (can wheel it into my office.) I do imagine doing some bike races once I get back into shape again and I also could foresee a need to carry things around with me so something that can at some point support a rack would be nice as well.
In my very quick research so far I have found these two:
https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bik.../#overview
http://www.cannondale.com/en/USA/Bike/Pr...07adadafc7
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
