  2007 E63 Wagon
Posted by: davej - 10-31-2019, 10:29 AM - Forum: Member's Projects - Replies (39)

Outside of always wanting one, I really don't know much about these cars, but I'm excited to dig in and learn. Here's the basics from the PO's ad.
I still need to unpack the car from all the parts and bits he included, but hopefully I'll get some of my own photos up soon.

2007 Mercedes-Benz E63 Wagon - Estate S211 / W211
Imgur https://imgur.com/a/F3EZgpS
Mileage: 146,xxx
Exterior: Flint Gray Metallic 7.5/10
Interior: Black Napa Leather 9/10

Modifications and OEM/OEM+
-Headbolts updated w/OEM (2012+) M156 headbolts, tappet/lifters replaced at same time, valve cover powder coated, some coolant lines, coolant tank and thermostat also replaced 124K miles (this was preventative not reactive)
Album of work: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_ZgQBYLZaVULU5RaFZHX1Z6U1k?usp=sharing
-ARH (American Racing Headers) Long tube catless headers ceramic coated (these were originally catted but the cats cracked and ARH wanted absurd money to replace, a weekend with a MIG and some 3” band clamps solved that) – this car will not pass an emissions test
-Weistec oil catch can / oil/air separator, checked every 2,500 miles, little to no blow by.
-Weistec trans pan (+2 q of fluid)
-Weistec spark plugs (step colder brisk plugs)
-Eurocharged V7 tune, I have the handheld but I think it’s dead--car was tuned at Eurocharged Orlando
-AFE dry filters with ROW air boxes
-OEM euro convex mirrors
-COMAND with Bluetooth puck removed and swapped for a Carplay unit (COMAND and puck included)
-Shardul underdrive pulley’s
-OEM spare tire and compressor– shoehorned under the 3rd row seats
-3M crystalline tint 40% all glass, 70% windshield
-OEM roof rack and 3 OEM bike racks
-OEM E63 P030 sedan two piece wheels - the wheels are peeling clear coat but no rash
-hardwired V1, color concealed display on gauge cluster and mute button by headlight switch
-mounted and hidden hardware (not hardwired) 2 channel (front/back) Blackvue dashcam with Wi-Fi downloading/updates
-front laser shifters mounted in lower grill, kill switch by drivers left knee
-lowering links in front only, I think it was a turn and half on the nut.  It’s low enough to alleviate the Euro reverse rake not look lowered.
-The rear fenders are lightly rolled, I did have 19” HRE wheels and the clear the semi aggressive offset I rolled the fenders
-I coded out the corning fog lights (add this to the bad, one is cracked)

Maintenance (done in the last 2 years 20K miles)
-fluids/filters changed at regular intervals (oil 5K, trans 30K, diff 30K, brake 2yr, cabin, air (cleaned))
-motor mounts, trans mount
-air suspension compressor
-Arnott airbags (driver front still OEM)
-OEM brakes- rotors, pads, e-brake done 120K
-rear flex disc
-serpentine belt
-lower control arms
-Tires are all matching Continental sports (MO) front tires have about 40-50% tread, rears were replaced 1K miles ago.
-power steering reservoir replaced to elevate groan
-all 8 coil packs
-replaced the gauge cluster (swapped the brain to retain mileage) due to flickering gas gauge
-keyless go (drivers handle and gear select button)
-numerous 02 sensors, these go about every 5K miles and are about $100 on amazon

  Game 2.0 - October 31, 9am
Posted by: davej - 10-26-2019, 08:06 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (113)

I had a lot of fun last time, so we'll try it again. Refresh of the rules from
http://forum.mmsports.org/showthread.php?tid=11547

I already bought and picked up a vehicle. Now you guys have to guess what it was a la 20 questions style.

Rules:
1. We'll start it live at 9a on Thursday, Oct 31, please no questions until then.
2. First to correctly guess the year, make & model in a single post is the winner.
3. I can only answer with yes/no.
4. You may ask unlimited questions, but only one per post.
5. You may only guess at the answer one time, if incorrect you may not guess again and are ineligible for winning the grand prize.
6. I hold the right of refusal to answer any question, or to change the rules as we go to account for inadvertent plot holes.
7. Read the rules, <strike>Brandon.</strike> Taylor
8. Rex is ineligible to win but can still help with obscure questions if people get stuck.

Prize: round of coffee at MAAP

Examples:
"does it have 2 doors" or will it hold x people" will get a response.

"Is it a [manufacturer]" or "was it made in [decade]" won't.

PENDING SALE, and not to Derecola for $5 and a kick in the nuts.

With the VZW trade ins accepting the OG Pixel I turned that in and upped to a 4. So I have my 3 to sell.

128gb, Black, cord/brick, headphone adapter, some cases

Has Google Insurance til Oct 2020.

  What's broke?
Posted by: BLINGMW - 10-22-2019, 09:35 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (29)

Before my dad gets a diagnosis and bill from the shop, what do you think the issue is? I already have my theory...

First gen tacoma 4cyl 2.4 4WD
PS system leaks, looks like I forgot to top it off for a while.
PS pump locked up, belt squealing, he parked it.
Started it up to show me, engine sounds fine but now not even the crank pulley is spinning, so no belts moving at all.
With an inspection mirror I could see the bolts still present in the crank pulley.

I haven't posted here much at all but this latest Vinwiki video made me remember back to hanging out with MM my Freshman year of college. Anyone remember meeting up with these guys and drag racing on a runway at someone's house?

take all of this for $25?  I'll pay shipping.  worked rock solid, now its just taking up space in my closet and its either getting sold or tossed.  maybe good for a kids setup or TV media machine.

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P with an Intel Pentium E5200 2.5GB processor, 2GB DDR2 G.Skill RAM (the Corsair RAM was tossed, slow(er) and old).  Fan was taken off when i was considering pirating it for another project but bailed on that.  comes with Arctic Silver compound so you can remount the fan fresh.

ASUS Radeon HD 4350 512MB 64-Bit DDR2 video card.  600mhz.

old CS4 Student Edition suite.  product code included, but since i still use Adobe it may not work so you might have to fish for a code.  Premiere Elements discs, code for Photoshop included.  Old windows XP install disc, no code.

giant ass AZZA fan with shroud.  135x135x25, i think it has LEDs as well.

brand new stock Intel CPU fan with the thermal compound untouched in box. this came with my Xeon processor but i went with an aftermarket fan...which was a waste btw

  Off-Roading 10/20
Posted by: Ivan_B - 10-15-2019, 12:08 AM - Forum: Events - Replies (4)

Hey all, I'm trying to get an Off-Roading trip together for this upcoming Sunday.

The plan is to meet up in the R1 parking lot at 10:30am before heading out. I plan on going up Union Springs, hanging out up by flagpole and the mud pit then going back down Switzer Lake.

Union Springs is a little bit more technical than Switzer Lake but it shouldn't be anything too challenging. If you don’t have an off-roady car that isn't a problem, I have two open seats in my car and hopefully more in other members cars. If you would like to come along but need a seat, please post below so we can keep track of who’s going to be in which car.

If you plan on coming, please post below and acknowledge the GroupMe event if applicable. For people driving please post the number of open seats you have.

See everyone on Sunday!

  Santa's Toy Run @ Road Atlanta 12/7/19 - 12/8/19
Posted by: Senor_Taylor - 10-14-2019, 10:49 AM - Forum: Events - Replies (3)

I'm heading down to run DE3 at Road Atlanta with NASA SE. I've always wanted to drive here and everything lines up to where I can go. Not looking forward to 8 hours of driving and sleeping in my truck, but oh well.

http://nasa-se.com/2018/12/04/santas-toy...atlanta-2/

Anyone else going? The NASA Hotel rate is $83 a night, so if someone else goes, I'm down to split the room.
