  Site Ownership
Posted by: Senor_Taylor - 12-02-2019, 03:48 PM - Forum: Site Suggestions/Status - No Replies

Hello everyone.

Are any of you interested in taking ownership of the hosting for this site? I believe Jake is trying to relinquish the responsibility. I chip in with some money to pay for it throughout the year, in addition to ad sense revenue.

  WTB: Golf Cart Trailer
Posted by: Senor_Taylor - 12-02-2019, 03:41 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (6)

Looking to surprise Mom with a Golf Cart trailer. She has no way of transporting her pride and joy, a lifted purple golf cart.

Looking to spend <$800, at least 8x5 with Jack and good ramps. There are plenty of these on craigslist, but I'm looking for simplicity and a known good trailer. I have to find a way to buy it, store it, then get it down to Lynchburg from Nova to hide until Christmas.

Thanks. Let me know.

  Nova Alumni: Ford vs Ferrari

This would be a cool opportunity to get the Nova Alums together to watch this.

Who is interested and what days may work?

Short notice, but perhaps this Friday or Sunday?

  Daily Jaguar

My wife upgraded to a Volvo and I ended up with her Mazda 3 as a daily.  It was "fine", but a little boring.  It's biggest problem was my son's car seat barely fit, effectively making it an impractical 2 seater.  If I'm going have have capital wrapped up in something impractical, it's going to be something fun.  So Mazda 3 was out.

I came across something very randomly and car ADD strikes hard.  If I need something bigger to tote the wife and little guy around, might as well go all in.  I picked this up Friday:

2004 Jaguar XJ8

One owner from Williamsburg, bought new at the Richmond Jaguar dealership and serviced there yearly.  It shared the garage for a couple Morgans and was bought so his wife could drive it to club events while he took a Morgan.

25k original miles when I picked it up.  I paid less than 1/10 of original purchase price.  It's so amazing to drive.  Smooth, quiet, powerful.

Projects?  Needs nothing but some paint correction.  I plan to just drive and enjoy it.

It has an added bonus of now I can take my TR6 more to club events and my wife can bring the little guy in the Jaguar.

  1990 Miata

MM Price: $4000 or something

1990 Miata. Garage kept. Well taken care of.
95,000 miles
5 speed
No rust
I've owned a driven many Miatas and this is by far the best example I've had. Firm brake pedal, smooth idle. Pulls hard, turns well, stops quickly.

Newer top
Newer radiator
Mazda Car cover
Cabin tonneau cover
Soft top cover
Mazda cup holder with box
Aftermarket radio with remote, all speakers working
Very little lifter tick, even in this <30 degree weather.

Water pump and timing belt service not known.
Only oil leak is a slight weep of the CAS seal
Wear on driver seat
Seats do not appear to be original to car.[Image: 53a7177bee0c4d2bf04a8129a7fd8472.jpg][Image: a16ea94abc55a79414ffbf6fa3f6843e.jpg][Image: 02e5f750eb9babdd5c82715be3d63d40.jpg][Image: 77cd909f173da202675bbf6d82cb7cd8.jpg]

  2017 Mazda 3

If anyone needs a nice, reliable, fun driver, this is your car.

2017 Mazda 3 hatchback touring 2.5.
We are the original owners.  All service records from new. Still under factory warranty. Fully loaded, leather interior, power everything, sunroof, navigation, Bluetooth, etc. 6 speed manual. No accidents or issues.
Ceramic paint coating when new.
2 sets of stock wheels. One with all season, one set with snow tires

Clear title in hand.

$15,000

It was bought new for my wife while she was pregnant in the fall of '17 and post baby and graduation, she decided that she really wanted a new Volvo XC90.  I've been commuting with it the past several months but I have my eye on something older, a lot less reliable, that makes perfect sense for commuting lol.

Quick pictures from today (it's too cold to wash it right now outside).  I'll be cleaning it up over the next couple of days and happy to pass on any information if anyone is interested.

  Garage Build
Posted by: Scott - 11-05-2019, 04:50 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (20)

After years of planning, a house move, and job settling, I finally got to start on my garage build.

To facilitate the construction, first thing was to sell my (ex DJ) M3.

Step  #2, and possibly the most important step was to upgrade my wife's mom mobile to a new Volvo XC90 (happy wife, happy life)

On to the important part.  Garage plans.  After a couple months of back and forth, we agreed on plans with the contractor:

Two full stories, real staircase going up, and full floor for the second story.   Main story will be completely finished.  Upgraded electrical throughout for future cooling/heating as well as the future finished 2nd story. We also added plumbing under the staircase for a sink as well as ran the pipes to add a toilet if desired.

  FS: Pioneer soundbar

https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/...r/SP-SB23W

Still a current model, I think I've had this one for ~5yrs. Good sound for a soundbar since it's a wood cabinet and larger drivers than most. All works great and looks as-new, BT, RCA, optical inputs, the only thing that drives me a little nuts is how the sub powers off at low volume. Mostly I just miss having a component system better suited to music in the living room.

$150

This is looking like an awesome movie and will be premiering at the Regal Harrisonburg on November 14th at 6pm. Let's all cruise over to watch it, and possibly get food before/after.

Interested?

The first 5 people to post they want to go (students only), will get a free ticket!

Party afterward?
