  Who can find the tranny
Posted by: mrbaggio - 02-16-2004, 07:58 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (11)

My girlfriend has an 86 Jetta with a blown transmission.

Does anyone know of a place to get a used or referbed tranny? The shop wants 1500 for the tranny alone, they must be insane.

Let me know if you guys have any ideas.

Thanks Justin

  Hburg body shop recommendations?
Posted by: Beej - 02-16-2004, 04:58 PM - Forum: Appearance/Cosmetic - Replies (26)

I guess this belongs in Appearance/Cosmetic but that place is dead anyway.

I need to get a couple bumpers and my front valence sprayed. I'll bring them in prepped and primered for paint, so I just need someone to finish the job. Any of you guys have experience with a local body shop? I'm really not looking to spend much money, as Nick325iS has access to a spraygun we can use for the cost of paint - I'm just sure a bodyshop can do a slightly better job than my virgin ass. I'm only looking for the paint to last a year or so anyway before the whole car gets done.

Any recommendations for a relatively cheap shop?

TIA.

This is all based on an e-mail I just got, I'll be getting on the horn to figure it out even more tomorrow.

  Top 10 Racing Games
Posted by: Mike - 02-15-2004, 02:56 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (17)

What are your top 10 racing games of all-time? Here's my list of the games I have had trouble putting down now and in the past (* denotes I still play it):

*1. GT3
*2. Sports Car GT
3. NFS: Porsche Unleashed
4. GT2
5. Ivan "The Ironman" Stewarts' Off-Road
6. GT1
7. The Duel: Test Drive II
8. Mario Kart
*9. Live For Speed
10. F-Zero

Honorable mentions: *Rally Trophy, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, *F1 2002, F355 Challenge, Baja Off-Road, RC Pro-Am, *NFS: Underground, Excitebike, Top Gear

I keep thinking of games from way back in the day so I'll continue evolving my list as I see fit.

  Buying a car for college?
Posted by: RedNight351 - 02-15-2004, 02:10 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (52)

My daily driver back home is a 1970 Mustang 351 Cleveland with some toys under the hood. I can to the realization that car is not practical to have here. (Gas Mileage or lack thereof, need trunk room and would like to be able to have people sit in the back seat with at least some comfort)\

So I was thinking of buying a 99 Civic Si ( the one i found has no mods and only 67,000 miles.?

Anyone have any thoughts??
