  The Future of Race Tracks
Posted by: Chris - 02-11-2004, 12:05 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (2)

Is this the track that was closed for the ITR Expo? Does anyone know when it closed and if there are plans for re-opening?

Here is the designer of the track. Besides Arizona, they have designed Beaver Run and CMP, as well as many others.

Does anyone know this company's reputation and future tracks being opened?

What do you guys feel is the future of tracks in the U.S. Is there still a huge market and NEED for new tracks, or is the market saturated? If there is a need for more tracks, where in the U.S (or world) would be a good area to build?

I'm having problems finding any of the articles I've read on 13b displacement being more accurately measured at 2.6 liters and since I've not commited the argument to memory I may as well forget all about it.
Either way rotaries are weird and ugly and that will help me feel better at night.

Posted by: RedNight351 - 02-10-2004, 11:01 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (1)

I was at the first meeting and it was just a lot of information. (amusing)

I was wondering what the first def event is and to make sure what is required when working.

Is it the event on the 21st??

Thanks for helping the new guy.

This crash looks like the kind of thing Chan would do  Not because Chan can't drive, but because Chan has this thing for absurdity...

  Flagging/Track/AutoX Gear List
Posted by: Chris - 02-09-2004, 05:46 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (19)

Lets start an on-going list of everything we need for working corners and driving events. We can also post tools that each person has so we know who to borrow from when needed. I'll leave the list of driver equipment up to the OG's...

Corner/Track Worker List

**wear white outer clothing when flagging, no colors esp. red and yellow**

-rain gear (bring it and you won't use it)
-hiking boots bc it can be very muddy near the stands
-many, many layers of pants and shirts- bring warm clothes even if its nice out, it gets colder later in the day
-warm socks, hat, gloves
-camera
-water (at least 2 bottles)
-snacks
-sunglasses
-pen and notepad for recording incidents
-sunblock
-hat
-medicines if needed
-ear plugs
-NASA worker logbook
-some $$ for food

Tools I have

-jack
-stands
-torque wrench
-socket set
-breaker bar (bought today!)
-oil pan

Im Brett, one of Jacks friends, hes been trying to get me out to your events for awhile but my cars through those times havent really been up to par to where I want to thrash them around a course and drive them back a few hours. In any case, Ive finally gotten my car on its way and Id like some info on your upcomming autoX events and whatnot.
Heres a picture of the ride as she sits now.
