No way they're going back in. They're trashed.
oof, sorry man. bearing work sucks. just repacked the fronts on the xterra last weekend during a rotor change and there's no way to make that job fun or easy. sucks every time.

Actually it's pretty damn easy. Four bolts and the hub/bearing comes right off. Thankfully, I basically did the same job 45k miles ago when I replaced the CV axles so I had both sides done in an hour. Anti-seize FTW. The new parts come assembled and ready to roll. Should take me 45 minutes to bolt them up.
awwwwww damn i didn't see that they're bolt-on units. so jelly. i've gotta pull the entire hub assembly apart, remove each bearing race, repack, etc. four bolts is like cheating.

Units are typically not sold assembled. It's a hub + bearing that needs to be pressed together. The assembled unit at Advance is ~$155 and whateverbrand. These are assembled OEM Toyota hubs, seals, and bearings for the same price from Japan.. It should not have taken this long to get it, but the guy who sells them runs this as a side business and parts back-ordered.

love it. those shades fit really nice, way better than i'd expect for a press fit.
what sliders are those? that's the second serious modification i'm looking to do to ours. speaking of which, the first is a proper set of tires. those look like cooper AT3's...they're at the top of my list. how do you like 'em?

I love it, keep up the great work building this thing.
There's a similar-ish (color and tires at least) one running around these parts too, sharp looking truck.

Well I haven't posted here in awhile..
They are RCI Offroad sliders. T4R.org usually has a fall and spring group buy which gets you 15% off AKA free shipping. Funny you should ask about the AT3's..I've been absolutely pleased with them, but have been wanting to go bigger for a long time. So with all the Black Friday sales I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a set of 255/80r17's. Basically a 33x10 tire mounted up on FJ trail wheels I picked up locally for a great deal. Super pleased with this combo and proportionally fits the trucks current stance!

Oooooh. That looks good. A toyota on 33s is an unstoppable force.
That wheel/tire setup looks great.

What do you think of the wildpeaks as a street tire? Both Jess and I's vehicles are "off road" vehicles and I need to change over the tires on Jess' LR4 soon. Putting on highway all-seasons make it look really awkward.

So far they are super quiet. I know a lot of guys run them in the overland scene because they have pretty great on-road manners and off-road they are very good. The tread is pretty tightly packed so you're not gonna get a lot of noise or weird wear like a mud-terrain.
I would really do some comparison between the Cooper AT3's and the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. Both have stellar reputations and with my old Coopers being LT's the still have a silly amount of tread on them after almost 30k+ miles. You can't go wrong with either.
Awesome rig! I picked up an 08 GX470 this past summer and got since sliders and skids on black friday. If you're planning on doing a trail run post on the forum. I've gone out a few times with the Capitol Land Cruiser Club but want to hit up more places
