I don't hate it nor do I like it, but I don't know why everyone is surprised? It looks exactly like the racecar and all the camo'ed cars.
Dare I say it, but the MKIV was a pretty average looking car too.

Evan, I’ve always loved you for your blatant honesty, but don’t you bring that sorta hate speech into Supra talks.

Dare I say it, but the MKIV was a pretty average looking car too. The mkIV was that one girlfriend who didn't look as good as the others, but she did that one thing with her tongue. You know the thing? Yeah, that was hot.
Anyway, she was alright until she had that role in that movie and then everyone wanted to get with her. You may have even taken her on a date before then but she was kind of a pricey date. Eventually we all realized we had a chance, but blew it and it's too late. She's dating Matt Damon now and has a ton of cool shit.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
I kinda like it, but I also liked the old Z4 coupe.
I'd be interested @ $40k with 3 pedals, so meh.

49k? May as well buy the damn Z4.... I'll wait for full judgement based on options and performance figures. Still can get as mentioned muscle cars with more power and probably just as good handling for cheaper, but we shall find out

Or one of these; and they come with a manual and more power....

That's an EXTREMELY BMW inspired center stack. Do these share an interior?

That's such a BMW interior it hurts to call it a Toyota.
I like the styling in and out, if you consider it a new Z4 Coupe.

Are those really physical radio preset buttons? Who the hell approved that?

Other than that I like the interior a lot. I love my physical presets. Given its a BMW, you can set the presets as a shortcut for the idrive.
Set 1 to messages, Set 2 to navigate home, etc.
vs. multiple button pushes and scrolling.

I'm glad I don't own Toyota stock. It says "we forgot how to make a car so we paid BMW to do it". I guess they already admitted that with the 86, but car this stupid is damaging to the brand. FWIW I think it looks fine and all, but yes, why not just buy a Z4 or a vette?

My main problem with the exterior is the same problem I had with the LFA, LC500, and a lot of the current Lexuses. The design just isn't cohesive. There are all these curves and cuts that are kinda fighting each other like a Picasso painting. It's like they hired a team of designers that were responsible for one and only one part of the car, but weren't allowed to see what everyone else was doing.
Not the worst car I've ever seen but it's unsettling enough that it's just a bridge to far. And clearly I've got a lot more tolerance for outlandish designs than most.

And there are a lot of them. The doors, the hatch, the two part front quarter panel. I don't mind the exterior from those shots, but the door is really strange looking.
