D3 ATS:
Check out the Cadillac forums and browse to your heart's content. I did test drive the 2.0T a while back and was actually pretty impressed with it in stock form. It had a hoony nature about it.
Isn't Derek here still selling one?

Accord V6 Coupe 6-speed? My mom has one of those, she loves it. It's plenty fast and isn't a total slob in the corners but yeah probably not enough brakes on that thing. Very nice car, so much so that it's taken me over 2 years to convince my mom to treat herself to something new and I still haven't succeeded. Nothing has struck her fancy in the same way.
My vote would be for a 6-speed TSX or the FG Civic Si. An ATS 2.0L could be nice too, I just don't know how well those hold up.
I think if you drive the new Accord you may surprise you with how nice it is and how much of a value it is. I've been pretty impressed with all of the new Hondas that have come down the pipe in the last 2 years (which is why we now have two of them). That said, a 2.0T Accord is gonna be somewhat pricey, and I think you could a nice CPO luxo sport sedan or something for that money.

That was the problem I was running into when looking at them. For the money you would spend on new 2.0T Accord you can find a 30-40k mile 2015 IS350 F Sport which is a whole lot more car.

I must say I don't like the Buick wagon thing. It's ugly. Too big. Too much cladding. Something about the proportions just scream classic fat mid 2000's American car and just yuck. No thanks. And I'm basically a wagon slut.

Oh I like it, but I know in 18 months the paint is going to be coming off the radio and the interior is gonna be falling apart.
HOLD ON. WHY HAVE WE NOT RECOMMENDED THE TSX WAGON YET?!

I want to like the tsx wagon, but it's dated and has a horrible trans and never came in manual.

You like a Buick because it has less technology. You have officially:

The TourX is apparently the size of a 5-series wagon, so... that's kinda big. Also, GM.
TSX wagons are auto only, small, and slow.

This. And I already have a wagon.
So, recap. The things that are shizzling my nizzle -
- 8th gen Civic Si Sedan
- Acura TL Type-S
- IS300 Manual
- ATS 2.0t
- Audi TT (2nd gen, probably VR6 AWD)
- Audi A4 (B8, 2.0t AWD)
There's a civic Si at a small dealer in Arlington that has an... interesting paper trail, with questionably low miles, repossessed early on and sold at auction twice - https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale...=474574081 - I wonder what kind of ghosts are in the vents. Scotty, I feel your pain in finding one of these. The cloth seats may knock it off the list anyways.
But really, I never thought I'd seriously consider a fuckin' cadillac? Looks like I'm gonna trade cars for a day with Derek, so this should give me a good feel for one. I'm having a little trouble getting excited about a nice, well-kept TL or IS300 when I can get an ATS or A4 that's 5-10 years newer for same money. Seriously, a 4 year old ATS for $15k?

The only thing I will say about my experience with Cadillac is that their quality control is questionable at best. I had more issues with my CTS than any car I've ever owned. Hopefully they have righted the ship since then. I really liked the ATS's I test drove back in the day...the red carbon fiber + leather seats trim is choiceeee.
The back seats in those is trash though, might as well not be one or just buy the ATS coupe

Those buicks are tits. If they ever make one without the cladding, I'll buy one when it's 4 years old. Even with the cladding, getting it in black it might be OK.

Realllyyy expensive for what they are, and hard to find as well. I looked after the TDI.

Yeah, but stick an Audi Allroad badge on it and we'd be losing our collective shit over it. Yeah, the front end looks a little long, the trend of rear tail lights poking out are goofy, and the cladding... but the interior is as nice as anything coming out of Volvo or BMW right now. I dont know if the materials are garbage, but, looks nice to me in the press photos.
