Slow your rolls, children. With a deep enough discount (no chance they'd offer one), yes, I'd buy another VW. From a driving standpoint, they're great. I'd have to think my car and the single service shop I've dealt with are not norms. Anyway, something busted in the steering rack. I don't have details. It took a 4th call from me to get someone to tell me anything. Messages left with them, never responded to. They said "did you get our messages"? Uh, wat? I don't see any or any missed calls. Cell phones suck, but not that much. I again mentioned I need the car back. They offer a loaner Passat. Enjoy the grease, fuckers.

Ahahah got the loaner. Can they fail with a loaner? Yes. Clearly used by a family before me. Not cleaned. Brownie crumbs, crushed cereal, and stains? (around the shifter) ALL OVER THE PLACE. My car is cleaner at 20k than this is at 1k.

Got car back. They replaced the steering rack.
I had a lightbulb go off on my way to pick it up. Upon arrival, I asked them what phone number they had for me. It was not mine or even close to it. So maybe that's why I've never received a call? That explains half of my frustration with them, but they still very much suck.

Not to pile on the hate, but a 20,000 mile steering rack replacement doesn't scream quality control issues to you? Isn't this what got VW their reputation in the first place?
