you're joking on tinting it, right?

anyway, get chrome mirrors, chrome headlight things, AND chrome bumpers. ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED.

happy day.

Love the color. I wouldn't do the chrome with it though. Maybe some sort of period aftermarket type mirror? I think it would look good with smallish round mirrors.

I'm not. It wouldn't be dark, just something to block UV.

I'm probably not going to convert it back to chrome. If the window trim was OG chrome, I could see it, but not with the black it currently has. I really like the asymmetrical look, so at this point I'm leaning away from any tinting. I reached out to a tint shop to see if I have any options, but I haven't heard back yet. I suspect I could go illegal, since there's no inspections in the state... not sure I want to deal with finding a shop that'll do it and the potential hassle of a ticket though.

Add to my list of things to do is replacing the sun visors. The foam in them has degraded and they're all swoled up and crunchy.

They have UV blocking film with no tint. Keeps the car cool and interior from fading. I think it is pretty expensive though. If I can find it I'll drop a link.

Also in regards to finding someone to put on illegal tint, that should be easy. Most places just have you sign a waiver and go for it.

Getting it isn't the primary concern, it's the $124 ticket. They require certification between the tint and the window on the driver's side, so unless that was faked, I could get a ticket just for being parked on the street (without any testing required).

Tint laws are gay. Had to scrape the 12% off the front windows of my new truck....I was very sad.

What's a 911 without an oil leak? According to 0:15 in this video, it's pretty common.

The car was sold As-Is.

It's a persistent leak, but it's not a huge one. They either cleaned it up and it took awhile to seep enough or it's a new leak. I'm fairly certain it's that connector... just not sure if it's where the black meets the line or the blue.

Looks like it has covered more than I would expect if it were just the fitting. My guess is that it's whatever gasket is there and that looks more involved than a simple oil pan gasket change.

The fitting is above the pan and it looks like it starts there. I talked to a few people, including a local shop, and everyone has said it's very common for that fitting to leak. I'm somewhat surprised given there are only 6,000 miles since the rebuild, but prevailing theory is that type of fitting has just worked itself loose.

Took the car to an olde timey Porsche mechanic and he said this leak and two other very minor "wet spots" weren't worth messing around with given the chance of making the problem much, much worse. If it starts to become problematic, then we do something about it. Until then, it's just an old Porsche with a standard issue oil leak.

I also had him adjust the idle, since it had a habit of getting stuck in neutral. Now the thing is pretty damn quiet and much smooth at red lights.

I tried to source new sun visors but even replicas are $120/pair. At that rate, I'll live with the ones in there now.
