Reminds me of Andrew Jones miata he picked up cheap.
Cousins!
So he just drove it around for a bit and said it needs a turn signal bulb, the airbag light flashed 10 times, he put a new battery in it, but it needs pads and rotors. Headlight needs adjusting, but the interior looks nice. Says he doesn't know if the top doesn't leak, but it is new. Also sent me a billion pictures of the hood and trunk. This guy is disclosing so much, I can't tell if it's good, or suspicious.
The airbag light means it's a bad airbag module, which in a 93 is the same as a Taurus's sensor. The miata sensors are like $150-200, but I can get a Taurus one on the cheap. Bargaining chips ahoy.

Have him pull up the carpet on the parcel shelf behind the seats and make sure that isn't a sheet of rust, and for the top, when you check it out, sit inside and have him spray it with a hose for sure.
Also, that radiator is definitely on the way to explodey town. An all-aluminum replacement is cheap but just know that will need replacing sooner rather than later.
Thanks for the advice! Looks like I really need to get the price down to make this worth it.
Nope looks like a $2000 Miata to me. I'm really really really not trying to ride your ass, but if you expect aluminum radiators and full-service histories in a $2000 car you need to reset your expectations.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Good, because I at least expect dinner first.
No reason to not talk him down from $2000 if it'll need tires, brakes, a radiator, and an airbag sensor module right off the bat. You do have a point, though.
I think the good news with the 1.6L cars is the airbag module is easy to access. My '95 started doing the blinky-light show and the module was like dead center of the dash at the firewall. So... fuck that.
If the top doesn't leak (much, I swear every Miata top leaks a little where it meets the side windows) then you've got a pretty solid $1800-2k car on your hands.
The photos and disclosure are good, this is where buying from a "member of Miata.net since 1999" really will pay off. Brake pads/rotors? If it just needs a set of *something* to make it stop, get your ass on Rock Auto and pick up pads for like $9 per axle and some cheap $11 Chinese rotors.

Then when your ignition coils go on sale and they only have 11 left, you sit in class on your phone and try and get your order in before DJ. I ended paying full price for my 6th coil, guess i should have placed my order before saying anyhting about the sale.

Only problem is he said it "might have 1.8 calipers".
Were those bigger/different? I wonder how I can figure out if they are or not.
Edit: I'm miss remembering. He said it's a 1.8 Clutch and flywheel, not brakes. Good stuff.
I know it's a moot point, but yes, 1.8 brakes are bigger.
Good place to cross-check parts diagrams and OEM part numbers (and buy parts, if you need something specialized or insist on OEM) is Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington, VA. They are a big forum sponsor of Miata.net and super good guys.
