So I finally had the exhaust fabricated on the red kar today. Not quite what I wanted, but it will suffice. The idea was to be a full 3" from turbo back, with the stock 2.5" cat being the only restriction, but the shop I went to didn't have 3" pipe. Therefore, it is now: turbo->3" Greddy Downpipe->2.5" stock cat-> mismatch pipe, prolly 2.25-2.5", welded on 2.5" pipe->3" mandrel bends->magnaflow muffler (3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlets).
As many of you can attest to, this car sounded like Armageddon was coming when you actually got on it, but it is super quiet now. You can barely tell the car is on at idle (damned tach!) and during regular driving it is still very quiet with a nice mellow tone. Under boost, it still isn't very loud. The b00st is strong with this one (MM star wars reference )
Although I'm still selling the car, I think somebody could put another $300 in it and it would be perfect, assuming they could do all of thier own work. I'm gonna be sad to see it go, even after all the hard work.Oh yeah, the point of this was the addiction, which has flared up bigtime for me since yesterday afternoon. I'm gonna try to bring it to the autoX on Sunday (won't be competing b/c I have to be at work at noon) and try to squeeze in a ride or two for anybody that wants one. Boost lag is about a 1/2 second before it becomes noticeable and continues to pull for what seems to be forever (again, the stupid tach is restricting me). The two spooling up together sounds incredible, even with all of the crap put back on the car that would have made it louder (padding under hood, random plastic peices, etc). The stock BOV is also quite sufficient in the cool PSSST! sound, but it isn't so loud as to attract a lot of attention (the best of both worlds). Best of all the new muffler looks almost like the stocker, so the only thing would make somebody think this car is as fast as it is would be the enormous FMIC, which still isn't REAL noticeable since the car sits so low to the ground.
Cliff's notes: Had exhaust fixed, I love turbos, car is now daily driveable without attracting a lot of attention, b00st is a wonderful thing, going to be hard to sell now, b00st is still a wonderful thing, regardless of what I buy as a second car one of the 2 will have a turbo on it in the near future.

well the check engine light resulted in a replacement of the O2 sensor. Not a fun bill but its fixed. I spent some time trying to remove the oil drain bolt, but its def. stripped and just spins. The oil only leaks out a little bit, so its ok for now. After some calls and reading, I realized the actual oil pan is stripped. Apparently there is only a small washer spot welded on the inside of the pan that has the treads to hold the bolt. I ordered a used oil pan and it will be here Friday. The problem is I can't drain the oil, so I'm either going to be very careful and remove the pan full of oil or should I drill a small hole in the pan to drain it? Does the oil just sit in the pan or is it at a level higher than the top of the pan?
RJ, I know you recently did something with your oil pan. Is this a hard task? From what I can see, there is only one bolt near the side of the tranny that will be hard to reach.
Hopefully I haven't made a poor decision, but putting in an oversize drain bolt may only be a temp. fix, and I'm home now where I can work in the garage and don't want to do this again.

I bought this under a year ago for 75 bucks. Still listed between 70-79 bucks depending on where you go.
It has my initials carved into the back of it. If you're initials are TAM, this is the product for you.
Asking 50 bucks, but feel free to lowball me.

*edit:
I forgot the all important, why am I getting rid of a perfect product?
I'm starting to hate the limitations of FWD in straight line racing and am going to be buying a simple Dejontool.com dual stage boost controller that will allow me to flip between stock like boost and the 20+ I want to run once I hook up.
