The current officers have gotten together and we would like to get a new design to add to our Club shirts. I know we have a couple apparel and art experienced members, and we were hoping to capture some feedback or ideas that you all have. Not just the art talented. After all, the majoirty of the wearers of the shirts are the members, so we want to know what you guys want on a shirt. I love our popular Tach design but I feel everyone in the club already has one and I know I have two of the exact same shirt so a fresh design would be nice. I know I would much rather rock an MM shirt around campus than a JMU shirt. It would be cool if we could get a JMU logo on our shirt but that might mean miles of red tape to get around with the school so not to sure about that. Might have to look into it.
We also need a design for the college solo autocross and once again would like to extend the council on what it should look like to you all since you are the ones who have (hopefully want) to wear them. This one needs to be planned out a little sooner than the other one but we still have plenty of time for both which is why I'm posting this now. \
So any ideas would be great

2001 F-150 4X4 6" lift on 37" tires

1999 BMW POS ///M3(SOLD)
1998 Honda Civic EX beater (SOLD)
Ahh a design brief. Well we're looking at two different designs no? Let's start with a new MM design. What are some requirements here? Here are some ideas:
-Must work well on at least black shirts, but preferable black, white, and grey
-Should have the yellow double M logo
-Should have 3 or less colors to keep costs low
For the College Autox Invitational:
-Should probably be monochrome to keep costs low. Also, if it is monochrome each school could get shirts in their own colors (i.e. MM would get black w/yellow ink, VT would get burgundy w/orange ink, UVA would get navy w/orange ink, and so on)
-Should incorporate autocross imagery (cones, car(s) going around cones, etc)

i've always thought an autocross design that might work would be a ground level silhouette of a popular car (miata, M3) about to slice around a cone. you could do it in 1 or 2 colors, it would be simple, and easy to adjust for full width. if i have time tommorow i'll throw an example together to show what i mean.

That sounds awesome!

Last year, we did school-colored shirts and all had white ink. Not sure if doing things as you suggest would cost more or not. Good idea to call up SOS and ask.

Honestly... Scotty's idea sounds pretty awesome.. I'm thinking like a gray shirt with the image faded in black.. MM logo above it.. Classic MM colors apply here too
someone with some talent... see if you can make the "MM" logo out of orange cones and use correct autox directions

here's what i was thinking. pretty quickly done but should give you an idea of where i was going with it. tried to keep colors to a minimum.
the autocross variant would be about the same but replace the curbing with a series of cones. the car would be more head-on though so it would be easier to size the cones to show a depth of field. if i have time today i'll mock that up too.
for lighter shirts
for darker shirts

Gimme dem shits RIGHT NAO.
Seriously, that is awesome. Want. Kudos. I'd love to see the Miata another color too (can I suggest Sapphire Blue  )
Ready the battlestations, but I was never a huge fan of yellow. I love my MM hat that has silver M's (only one made?). I rock a silver sticker. If its not too much trouble, it'd be kick ass to see shirts available in a couple of colors. If not, get me that design on a hoodie in silver stat.
That's pretty sweet.

sure we could definitely do a different color car. just thinking about how to keep costs down (less colors the better) and i don't think i have it in me to change the classic MM logo color scheme.

^ one with e30? Them shitz are awesome!
THE MM COLORS ARE BLACK AND YELLOW, DON'T LIKE IT GTFO!!!!!!!
Those will always be the classic colors and I think belong on the club T-shirt. IMO keep the custom colors to apparel orders like embroidered hoodies, hats, etc.
Dont know how i feel about the Miata, or a BMW for that matter. How bout a Civic Hatch???
Love love love it.
I'd buy a Miata one and an E30 one.

I like the idea of the design - but would it maybe look better if it wasnt so wide? Make the curve more obvious and rotate the car so that you can move it closer to the MM// flag design
