2011 Feast of Alvis Turducken party - 1/29/11

There's parking on the street in front of the house or in the neighborhood.

I'll supply the bird and probably do some sweet potatoes, and maybe some desert foods. What I need from you donkeys:

- Beer
- Side dishes
- Desert dishes

For the beer it may be easier if 1 or more of you chip in and get a 1/6 keg of something decent. Westover Market is nearby and has these or the charlottesville crew could bring up some starr hill (hint). I think last year someone brought a couple of cases of natty light - dont do that again, I'll cut you. A few 6 packs wouldnt hurt also to add some variety to the beer selection.

On a frosty winterÔÇÖs night:
A wagon appeared at the gates of Fort Klugman carrying pioneers to the frontier. A young woman in the party called Delia was heavy with child and though she had journeyed with the virile young men for nigh on one year, none had lain with her; though she was comely.

And on this frosty winterÔÇÖs night, young DeliaÔÇÖs water broke almost freezing her to the seat of the wagon. And the pioneers beseeched the soldiers to grant them entrance so that she could give birth to her child in the hospital there. But, due to an outbreak of syphilis among the soldiers, the hospital was full. So there in the stable among the feed and tack and whatsit she gave birth to a son whom she called Alvis. As was her wont.

And since none of the men in the party was the father, it was decided among them that the birth of this child must truly be a miracle! And it was so, for above the fort there suddenly and miraculously appeared an awesome and mighty comet! And so brilliant was its light that there came from all the tribes that the soldiers had not yet decimated: shamens!
And they rode upon buffalo, as was their heathen custom, carrying offerings of whiskey and firearms. And when the shamans saw the child, they were in awe! For he glowed in a light that was truly not of this world!

I hereby designate myself the Czar of Slushies. I'll get you drunk, for as Alvis said:

Question.....

My wife is on crutches with a bum foot, and really doesn't want to go to the autoshow with us. Is any one gonna be around that morning she could hang with til we get back?
