Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you all know MonkeyWrench is going to start hosting Friday night meets at the shop located at 1037 Edom Road. Our first meet is tentatively planned for Friday, September 18th at 6:30pm. All the members of MM are more than welcome to come and check out the shop, see what we do, see some of our project cars, hang out and possibly go out for a cruise later on. We really want to provide a nice, legal location for people to meet up and hang out with their cars. (Of course those of you who are freshman or don't have your car down here are also more than welcome to come as well.)
We're going to try to make this a regular thing until winter really hits in November or December, and definitely bring it back in the spring when race season starts up again in late March. We're going to have food, music, and some fun stuff. Also, we'll explain our special MM Club Discount, JMU Student Discounts, and Track discounts in addition for plans for trips to drag races and drag test ant tune nights/days for anyone who is interested. We have plenty of parking, so be sure to invite your friends too!
If you all are interested in this, let me know!
Thanks
Hey guys,
As was mentioned at the meeting last night, just wanted to confirm that MonkeyWrench will be hosting a meet on Friday, September 18th at the shop. The address is 1037 Edom Road, Harrisonburg VA 22802.
The most straightforward way to get here is to go straight down route 42 and make a right on Edom road. We are located across the street from the Shenandoah Valley Livestock Sales.
Again, let me know how many people are planning on coming so I can get an idea of how much food to get. We're planning on grilling some hot dogs and hamburgers and possibly going for a cruise later on that night.
****FYI, I keep forgetting to mention this. MWP is offering 15% off labor fees for work for Madison Motorsports members, 10% off for JMU Students with JACard, and a special track discount. *****
If anybody has any questions, shoot me a message or call the shop at 540-736-7709.
Awesome to see a shop offering real healthy discounts for MM members! Thanks Brittany!

lets hope it works out better than our former employer did.....
:-) You guys gonna be in town?
I can't make it tonight, but would certainly be interested in the future, especially since I seem to break so much on my car.
It's all good man. Like I mentioned, we're gonna try to make this a regular thing. We've got some buddies coming up from Staunton with their cars and a few of the local guys from Harrisonburg coming too with some nice stuff.
We're planning on starting things around 6:30 tonight, but for those who would like to come up earlier you are welcome. You can BYOB as long as you are responsible with it. We're thinking of chilling for awhile, making sure everybody gets some food, then going out to play/cruise around a little bit until whenever.
Just a reminder, no burn outs or silly things in front of the shop or in the parking lots of the livestock sales guys. It's tempting I know, but the cops have been really lenient with us so far and we want to keep it that way so that we can keep doing stuff like this without attracting their attention.
Anyways, looking forward to seeing some of you guys out tonight! If you guys need help getting here or have questions, call my cell at 301-793-2714 or the shop at 540-736-7709 and either David or I will pick up.
**When you all come up, park in the gravel next to the shop where the Volvo and the other eclipses are. Also, watch for the slope coming up to the shop. Don't want anybody scraping up anything, lol. **

all that power going to 1 wheel will do that to a car.....
^^ As the VP.. I'm ashamed to say no one showed up except for Evan and myself... come on guys... go to Monkey Wrench.. they are great people... We hung out and had an absolute blast
I wanted to go but had to work until late Friday and it looks like it may stay that way. Did y'all advertise rides to campus noobs?
Are you guys having one the friday night of October 4th weekend? Also, you guys wouldnt happen to have the plugs for a 2g cam angle sensor and 2g crank angle sensor? I need to wire it back up for a 7-bolt.

Sorry for the late reply. Been really busy and sick. Here we go:
1) We're going to be having the meets until the weather turns bitterly cold, so YES we will be having meets this Friday and the following Friday, which is October 4th I believe.
2) Nope Goodspeed, didn't advertise rides to campus mostly because we are all working at the shop up until 6:30-7:00. Let me see what I can do. IN THE MEANTIME, IF SOMEBODY DOES NEED A RIDE, LET ME KNOW NOW, and we'll work something out.
3) DJ, let me check around the shop. I know we have a few 2g cam angle sensors and a couple crank angle sensors. If I find something, you want me to hold onto it for you? You gonna be in town around the 4th?
Anyways, MEET AGAIN THIS FRIDAY at 6:30. Word is spreading around town so some more people are "supposed" to show up this Friday. Same routine as last week: BYOB, food, hangout, and cruise (hopefully now that shiznit is fixed cruise attempt # 3 will go better than the first two :-P). Which reminds me...if you have a bike, bring it by the shop. We don't just do cars, we're bike people too. We're thinking of doubling the Friday night thing with a bike night too pending things go well. Like I said, the whole point of all of this is to create a good atmosphere in Harrisonburg where people can come and hang out, talk cars, and go out and play with cars (and/or bikes too :-D). If anybody does have issues getting there, let me know.
I think Cabell is organizing rides from his place this Friday. He'll probably post something soon.
Unfortunately I'll be out of town - but I'm totally down for next Friday, the 2nd

Brittany, I was referring to the MM O Team I really miss the Sheetz hangouts we used to do, thanks for doing these. How late do you plan to go? I have work till 9-9:30 but if you think you'll still be around I'll stop by.

Brittany, I will be there around that time too, or maybe earlier if I feel like just saying fuck this and leaving early from work.
Yeah I need the plugs, not the actual sensors, the plugs that get cut off when you do a 6-bolt conversion. I got to call you guys to discuss I have that 7-block/crank laying around, and if that one guy was interested in the manley piston/rod combo I got.

Gotchya Goodspeed. We hung out until about 9:30 last time anyways before we went out, so if people are planning on arriving later we can just chill for awhile longer. No biggie.
D.J. I'll have David look around the shop and see what we have cuz I honestly don't know if we have the plugs...I haven't seen them at all. But yeah give us a call, or we'll catch ya when you're in town.
FYI
IF IT IS RAINING...WE WILL STILL HOLD THE MEETS ON FRIDAYS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED!!! That's the nice thing about having a garage and a comfy cozy office, lol.
