Hey guys,
Relatively new guy here looking to head into the GWNF this weekend. My girlfriend is gone all day Saturday, so I'm looking to use that day wisely and go play with my Jeep  ideally leave town between 10-12 Saturday morning. I could also go Sunday, so if that would work out better for someone else, that’s cool by me
I realize most 4x4 members aren’t local, but I figured I would give it a shot. Nearly all of the potential routes will be stock friendly, so don't worry about needing a sky high 4x4 rig for this.
I can also bring up to 4 passengers if anyone is interested in riding ---- but this can only happen if there is another 4x4 member coming.
I realize this is last second, so I'll make a call sometime tomorrow night if this isn’t going to work out.

Even if you can only ride along, I'd suggest going. The views are great, and the weather is supposed to be nice! Sadly, I can't make it. GWNF is only 15 minutes away, so it's a very low commitment ordeal.

Yep! We can make the ride as short as an hour or two (or draw up a longer route). Should be 68 and sunny on Saturday and more of that on Sunday, too.

I can't go tomorrow, but I'm trying to put another stock friendly trail ride together soon. I'm one of the local 4x4 guys haha

Cool! Where are you thinking of heading to?
Also, I’m now trying to plan an outing on November 8 with a JeepForum member, as well. Probably some GWNF trails at this point.

Damn it. I would totally be down if I didn't already have plans.
Union or switzer to flagpole, or vice versa. November 8th I'm doing some more hardcore wheeling so I can't go that day. My dad has a mostly stock xj and I want to get him out soon. I'll talk to him this weekend and maybe we can plan something out. Cabell, you need to come too!
December 24th can't come sooner.
Ok, so my last second shot at an outing this weekend is off :dunno:
But, I’m going to do some research on the GWNF network of trails and roads and figure something out. Everyone/anyone is welcome to join me (and possibly my girlfriend) as a passenger or separate driver November 8.
And if we can get a few MM rigs together and get some MM passengers to go out soon, I’d be down! Even if we wait until the spring. But does anyone have a guesstimate of how many 4x4s we have in the group?

Well, we have a lot of freshmen with jeeps and stuff that aren't active and don't have their vehicles. Right now as for capable vehicles? Me, you, Colton, Cabell. Then the people him and I wheel with. I have a lot of local people I could round up for GWNF; all tacomas.
I've run most all the trails there about half a million times. On this side of GWNF there isn't anything hard. But it can make for a nice day trip. Snow runs are fun, but can get you in trouble fast!
I've never wheeled in dry conditions, so I think dry wheeling would bore me.
I think I know that jump the red jeep is going off of. One of the douchers with us was doing donuts at like 60 MPH and plowed right into it. Destroyed his skid.
Lol those are some good pictures. I love snow wheeling, only been a couple of times down near Blacksburg and we had an awesome time.
I’m not expecting much, but it’ll be nice to get my Yeep off the pavement for a little bit. Hoping to get to Rausch Creek for the first time in my JKU this coming spring, just such a PITA to get to it from here. May end up waiting until I move back to the great north to go.

Screw that, I hate all Yotas
Even if we round up a few vehicles, we should head out and have some fun. Passengers are always fun to have/make test out any mud puddles.

Just got back from a 3ish hour cruise. Definitely stock friendly, but it’s a cool trail!
Sounds like November 8th is the day that I’m heading to Flag Pole with some Jeepers. Anyone in MM is invited to drive or ride along.
In the mean time, I’ll probably head back into the mountains to explore the GWNF road network a bit more. Found a mini staircase back there and some cool views. Anyone who is interested in reading about it can check out this thread: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f74/norther...21091.html. If anyone wants to go up there with me, PM me or post here. A fair bit of what is up there is definitely Subaru/AWD car friendly, to an extent.
