The 1/4 Ryobi impact with no batt is $60
Brushless is $100. Dunno if brushless makes it worth the extra $$ given our use.
But I wanna grab the 1/4 impact and circular saw in a kit. They popup on sale pretty often.

Came across this combo of Impact, grinder, flashlight, charger, and 4mah batt for $139.

The impact alone is typically $119, battery is usually $80. I've seen just the impact with Batt for $99 around black Friday, so figured it was a good deal to pay $40 for the grinder and flashlight.
300ft lbs should be sufficient for my needs. I know you guys haven't had issues with it at the track for knocking lugs and suspension bolts off.
first check to see if your local homedepot has the impact kit for $70

I think its only a good deal if you're a tool collector. I cant imagine needing a grinder but not needing real AC power torque. The flashlight might come in handy but 120 lumens is pretty dim and its big and bulky. A cheap headlamp and AA flashlight would do you better. In the end the only really useful part is the impact wrench, and $140 is overpriced for the ryobi.
Personally, I think the best impact wrench deal is the Ridgid kit for $160. Lifetime warranty on tool AND battery is a game changer for these expensive LI-ion batteries.
https://slickdeals.net/f/10716596-ridgid...BarV2Algo1
Its OOS now but $160 is the normal price
I just bought the milwaukee that I posted in the deals thread but I am planning on returning it and getting the ridgid kit whenever its back in stock.
If you're penny pinching I think the rockwell is the best deal. $100, brushless, and a 20 year battery warranty. A bit light on torque but should be fine with anything but jiffy lube impacted-on lugs.

Mityvac brand extractor here with no issues. It’s design is perfect for oil changes. Not sure I would do atf or diff fluid with it as it does seem more fragile than my powerfil. The powerfill doesn’t have the capacity though and doesn’t “suck” oil out.

Which one do you have. Is the only difference that one can pump it back out? I thought I remember that being a thing when you and Jake first got them. Reviews say it's slow to pump out unless you get oil good and warm (which isn't a problem) and struggles with synthetic (could be) but i feel like a good deal of bad reviews for most things are people having too high of expectations or not using it correctly

not sure if i mentioned this one earlier but i use a GearWrench 30-250 lb/ft torque wrench.
$100 on amazon. really nice metal handle/construction, much prefer it over the plastic handle of my old Sears unit.

I’ve been using a $20 Harbor Freight torque wrench since my freshman year of college and barring a few times that it has failed to catch and you had to reposition, I’ve been happy with it. I don’t think I’d trust it to torque spec a full engine rebuild, but for lug nuts and water pumps and such, it’s been fine. Honestly though, in my old age laziness, lug nuts now basically get 2 or 3 good ugga duggas and I move on.

Just remember that torque wrenches technically need to be recalibrated event few years.
I've been using the harbor freight one as well as a used one I got from an aviation shop )they get new ones instead of recalibrating) and they've seemed to be equal.

Anyone used the harbor freight torque sticks? I love those things and they save a lot of time when putting on wheels and such (would still check with torque wrench for track duty). Just not sure how those will be.

only people i know that use torque sticks are the guys running air.
i got my hands on a MATCO tq wrench... in a range that it can do wheels, axles, and the crank pulley... basically it can do everything for me. I was tired of dealing with 4-5 different tq wrenches. I have a MATCO inch/lbs and ft/lbs and i'm done.

Fed up with crap Craftsman and other cheap 1/4" ratchets, I'm on the hunt for a Snap-On using eBay. I know Snap-On is overpriced and there are other brands to go with for similar quality. I don't need the lecture.
Has anyone had any experience with buying tools on eBay?
I do plan on taking my craftsman 1/4" ratchets to Lowe's to see if I can get them exchanged or repaired.
Won a big for this for $47 https://shop.snapon.com/product/Dual-80-...atchet/T72
and also have a winning bid placed for https://shop.snapon.com/product/Dual-80-...tchet/TF72 for the same amount with an hour left, so we'll see how it goes.

if you are breaking 1/4 inch ratchets you likely should have been using a 3/8s to do the job.
I've broken a few ratchets over the years... mostly abusing them by putting a jack handle on them and using them as a breaker bar. Its a gear operated device, dont use them as a breaker bar unless you want them to break. sometimes you cant help it (tight location, etc) but you are rolling the dice when you do it.
for the home wrencher, the high end tool warranty is a mail in program... just remember that. you will be without it for a while. with my craftsman i can still go to lowes and exchange it.
i have purchased some high end stuff off of ebay... mostly motor assembly stuff and some impact stuff i know will get abused anyway. i search for super deals... pennies on the dollar stuff... and generally when i'm under the influence late at night and "want" something. i guess thats why i have 4 of every tool now. I havent been ripped off yet.

Yeah, so the seller "lost" the ratchet and refunded my money. Still looking. Craftsman doesn't make a ratchet that feels as good as the 80 and "100" tooth ratchets from Snap On.

i sorta get it... and since the craftsman costs $25-30, if you can get the snapon for $40-50 it might be worth it... I have a couple of snapon +130 tooth ratchets for super tight spaces... but them more teeth, the easier they break. so i have tape on the handles so i "know" quickly which one i have in hand.

You can also get 4-5 harbor freight ratchets for snap on money. if you arent using the tools to make money its not worth it.

Ouch.
Snap on 1/4 ratchet on the way and waiting to see how two bids for some screwdrivers go.
