I was also going to ask for Black Friday TV recommendations if anyone sees anything that stands out. May scoop a new TV for our bedroom (40-50) or go bigger and replace the man cave TV with 4k (65+)

Just installed two down at my dad's condo. A 55 6 series and a 43 5 series. It's not oled but Picture probably good enough for a bedroom

I'm not necessarily, in fact we have a little 36 incher or so TCL Roku TV that we swap between the workout room and our bedroom right now. It does fine for what it cost (I think less than $150). If I pull the trigger on something for the man cave I'll probably go LG again or another name brand

I think they have the 43 5 series at best buy for $300 (they did last week). We paid $320 on Amazon. Might find a good Black Friday deal on the 49 though.

Google Pixel 3 XL Review:
The phone fucking sucks. Performs worse with Android Auto than my OG Pixel dude. Randomly gets stuck in a weird state where it won't turn on, or least the screen won't turn on. I can't take the battery out, so I've just got a $1000 brick.
The camera is great... when it works. It's take so fucking long for the app to open up, that whatever I wanted to take a photo of is gone.
Snapchat and other popular apps really struggle. I also feel like I have worse reception on this phone than my OG pixel. I don't feel like this was an upgrade in any way. Just better battery life because it's new.
Shit sucks.
edit: found a way to hard reboot it

The one commonality here is the person using these devices. Maybe I'm a lemon?

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
And those reasons are why I switched from Android to iPhone and never looked back. I might not have the latest finger print scanning recognition and wireless charging but my phone works 100% of the time. Nothing drives me crazier than a slow camera.

That's a tough one. I'll go with hating Android more than soup. Some soups are acceptable but no Android is acceptable (YMMV).

Are you double tapping the lock button to open the cam?
You call Google?
I really don’t see why there are any other phone options besides the iPhone and the Galaxy/Note. I’ve got an iPhone 6S for a work phone and a Galaxy S9+ for a personal phone, and I like them both. Both are reliable, have good features, and I don’t really find myself lacking for much with either.

The Pixel 2xl I have has far out performed anything else I've had before it (OnePlus and Samsung before that). I'm sure the newer Samsungs are fine, but I'll gladly take the device from the OS provider.
That being said, I think my wife's pixel 2 is a better build.

iPhones drive me insane. Can I get a fucking app drawer please? And a way to sort my apps alphabetically without having to do it manually.
Oh and why do I have the click the button after my fingerprint has been read? (This could be a setting, if it is please help)
Samsung has 8gb of bloatware. NO Samsung I don't want to use your shitty apps or any of the 4gb worth of Verizon apps.
Pixel = unmolested, no bloat Android OS on good hardware.
I'll blame the Android Auto issue on the shitty VW.

My last four phones have been Galaxies and I'll probably switch to the Pixel on the next refresh. Google's doing some pretty awesome things with their camera and other features like wireless charging have finally caught up, so I'm down with making the switch.

The call screening functionality makes the switch from Galaxy to Pixel worth it.
The potential with Duplex is pretty awesome as well.

There's also something to be said for a phone that's not tied to a carrier. No carrier bloatware that you can't delete unless you root the phone.
