Recommend a jump box / inverter / air compressor ?
#1
I've gone through two of these
[Image: 91UcS%2BYXfdS._SY450_.jpg]
They're great for long trips, camping, or tire inflating. This particular model's "400W" inverter can barely run a drill battery charger or a 100W fan, and the tiny chirping compressor that barely worked when new doesn't work after a few years....  But, still not bad for the price, and always does a good job jump-starting (even a '50's Cadillac)

Anyone have a recommendation for its replacement? #1 thing I would pay extra for is a real compressor.

I went separate.
A small lithium ion based jump starter for about $40-$50 (keep an eye on slickdeals for sales). Ive jump started my truck with it several times and it works well.
A compact 12v compressor from walmart. I have a "slime" brand one that works well enough, but there are others that should work as well
A 12v inverter that Ive had for years and I think Ive used once. I think I paid $15.

In for recommendations. I have bullshit chinese compressor someone gave me in my trunk for emergencies. It works, but it's slow as hell.

I'm considering that. I just have a hard time understanding how someone hasn't added some jumper cables to something like this battery powered halfway decent air compressor

EDIT: I emailed and heard back from in an hour, an english speaking person at Campbell Hausfeld who actually seems to work there (in Ohio!). She said they used to have two of exactly what I'm looking for 10 years ago, but they sold poorly and were discontinued. She sent me the spec sheets too. Damn!

I have that; battery capacity is crap.

Yeah that stanley one shows up everywhere, I'm awaiting a response on an email to them. Hadn't seen that "schumacher" one. In looking on their website (at least they have one!), it's falling into the large group of "dunno" when it comes to compressor specs.

In for recommendations, I have a power inverter that lives in the truck but one of these would be handy.

Anyone want a free jump box? Christmas presents for the family?

Order one of these
https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-J5C09-Jum...001U04NCA/

But manufacturer made a change and replaced the "cigarette lighter" output with more USB ports, and neither Amazon (nor Stanley's website!) Has updated their info. Only walmart shows it correctly:

Then, request a refund because it's incorrect. Amazon cannot return products with lead-acid batteries, so they refund it and it's yours.

I bought a lithium jump box for $80 that fits in a case about double the size of an iphone. I then have a Ryobi inflator that works with my batteries for emergency use and a compressor at home.

I tried the "all in ones" twice before finally giving up.

Is this all amperage models or just the 600?

I really dont understand this product.  150w wont run anything,  barely a laptop.
And if you're tailgating,  why wouldnt you pay a lot less money for a real inverter to plug into your car/truck and be able to run actual electrical things?

And I really fail to see the value compared to something like this - BLACK+DECKER PPRH5B Portable Power Station: 900 Peak/450 Instant Amps, 500W Inverter, 120 PSI Air Compressor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BR1TO80/ref...LBbEHKXQEC

It weighs 8billions pounds and will last about 3 weeks past it's warranty.

Ask me how I know.....

Plus 150w handles my laptop, 32in Roku TV, and a couple of cellphones, doesn't limit me to the length of my power cords, and utilizes a system I already invested in.

But carry-on...

You can still do it if you really want to cheat the system. I mean after all, after Channing told you what to do, it's not really an honest mistake. As long as you only do it once, Amazon probably won't punish you. Just say you thought the it was the same as the 700 one and the website description is confusing

OK gentlemen, here is what you do to get a $105 jump box with decent tire inflator. As usual Evan was ahead of his time:

$65 Tacklife T6 Lithium starter actually works. I guess I'm done with lead-acid motorcycle battery jump starters. My bar is low; it starts a Miata with a totally dead battery, but it works, and it's tiny (fits in a NA Miata glovebox!). It also comes with a cigarette lighter output...

https://www.amazon.com/TACKLIFE-Car-Jump...075K42Z1M/

...which is perfect for their $40 inflator

https://www.amazon.com/Inflator-TACKLIFE...07GGT4NFV/

Also shown is the Campbell Hausfeld inflator which is fantastic, but draws more than 10A and most of these jump-starters won't run it.

Both inflators read a psi or two lower than my trusty gauge, which is fine, as the threaded attachments always release a decent amount of air. Campbell Hausfeld fills a 235/17/45 tire from 30 to 36 psi in 45 sec, has a real heat sink and a fan. Tacklife does the same in 70 sec, appears to have a fake plastic heatsink, but is otherwise equally hefty, a little quieter, and documentation and labels are an interesting brand of Engrish. Most importantly it runs off the jump box! I don't know why someone hasn't combined these products into one piece of plastic. I guess I'll have to make one out of wood.
