I have a few password variants I use, some low security, some higher, highest for my online banking / investing / CC. Despite my otherwise crapulent memory, I remember passwords really well and don't have trouble getting locked out of things.
However, that apparently doesn't apply to my Chase credit card. Here's the dance every other month or so when I go to log in and pay my bill, using a password I use on 2 other sites and I know is correct.

yeah, i'm so sick of the password requirements. I'm generally fine with passwords, but the one that gets me is the 'can't you your last 30 passwords' one.

I also don't understand the ones where you can't use special characters, only numbers and letters... JFC

At work, we cannot reuse passwords. Ever.

We also can't use anything in the dictionary or anything that resembles a word in the dictionary.

They are reset every 90 days and I've been here for almost 7 years.

Nothing any website can throw at me phases me anymore.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Generally longer passwords are stronger than complex ones. Lots of places are still stuck in old school thinking on the issue so you get mixed standards, which are up to who ever implemented.

I thought about once when it was mentioned before but was kind of worried. If they hack that then don't they have all your passwords? How do you trust the app developer themselves even?

me to production manager - "hey i need the product photos for the box so we can make it look like the prior version (just bought a product from another manufacturer, we're copying their box with our branding). High res or RAW if possible, thanks"

gosh danged dingdong sends me a link to a folder of over 800 studio shots, unedited. no files are labeled as to where i can tell they were the ones used on the box. I needed 4 photos.

and after combing through them all...at least one of the photos i need, isn't even there.

Funny (not), the VA DMV website recently decided to get with "the times" and just asked me to replace my 4 digit pin with
12-14 characters (no more or less we cannot handle that) that includes:
A capital letter
A number
A special character

VA DMV says "You're welcome Virginia!"

But on another note of things I hate, how about when your phone does some major update that changes half the shit you use every day, but doesn't offer any information about it? Up is down, right is wrong, red means green, random icons replacing other random icons....
Let me tell you how much I enjoy figuring out all these wonderful new "features" whilst trying to drive!  Angry

Sure, that's the easy response, and clearly the attitude of typical developers.... but on the other hand, if you want people to take your product seriously, random unannounced operational changes aren't the way to go. All it takes is a FAQ, release notes, SOMETHING. I can think of no other device in history that expects people to put up with such crap.

Oh hey, we changed your shifter operation today without notice; D means "drive backward", P means "proceed to next destination", N is for "not driving anymore", and R means "rev engine".

Oh hey, new feature today, pressing your toiler lever up means flush. Down means enema.

Oh hey, regular up/down light switches are boring. Today it's press to start and up/down controls the thermostat.
