I don't understand the miata thing. Low mileage miatas keep popping up on BaT, are they supposed to be something special? I get that it is rare to find one in pristine shape with low miles, but are people really paying a premium for one of these?

Agreed x10000 on the 997 GT3RS. That generation is simply perfect looking from every angle. The new cars are great, but if I was able to select any car to have as my own it would be a 997 GT3 without a doubt. Simply gorgeous.

I think you answered your own question there - it is getting more difficult to find clean NA's (and NB's too, really), and there's of course a huge fan-base for them, so we're getting into supply vs. demand on pricing.  Plus, the car was a huge deal when it debuted so it is "important" (to say nothing of its growth, accomplishments & importance since then), and we've got the whole 90's nostalgia/analog desire market forces to apply to them as well.  So yeah, I totally get why they're popping up on BaT and do believe they're a bonafide classic now.

(B) Evergreen it is, first M coupe I've seen in that color (I think I've seen a roadster, once).  I want to say the owner is el jefe of the region's BMW CCA, and it had a PA tag on the back that just said "M".

There's an exotics club by me that meets every week and is pretty hardcore about what they let in. I've never managed to get my car out for various reasons (it's not in Seattle), but they do a good job of getting a lot of really interesting cars out. They do theme days, like Italian, Mini, German, etc. but I've also managed to miss the German days because we're always camping or something. Anyway, he's some photos (that aren't mine) from the show last weekend - the last of the season. I think they had like 350 cars out there.
