I prefer my adventures be ones I haven't done yet. Driving down 95 for 600 miles ain't a life experience I want to relive.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
Thank god some fucking progress. Mods delete all pages except for the spring post and the first.

Should have given me the $650 and I would have went up and picked it up. I would have even put painters tape on the front of the car to protect it during the journey.

The tint (if there is any) looked a lot darker in the dealer shots. Do you know if there is any? If not, are you considering adding it?

Glad you finally have it!

The most you can probably get on a wagon factory is like 3%. SUV's and trucks fall in a different category and can have dark tint in the back. Cars (and therefore wagons) cannot. The Forrester is classified as an SUV so it can have tint.
Go get the medical wavior if you don't have one already. 35% all the way around. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

So yea, the car came.
I think my saltiness was mostly impatience, and the fact I moved meetings to the afternoon. I was anticipating him coming in the morning, then I can dick around with the car, and have my meeting late in the day. NERP! But its here! Yay! All looked good during the unload, it is exactly as described. Then as we are doing the walk-around the dipshit driver is rubbing the dirt off the car with his fingers on the, "Yea it's just dirty, it fine", "Can you please not do that, I'll just wash the car", where do I sign, so you go the fuck away. I got them to throw in the all weather mats, trunk tray, touch up paint, and a sweet M hat.....which were all in the hatch. Quick wash, nothing crazy going on, just a handful of rock chips, that I knew about, some fine scratches and swirl marks. Nothing a detailer can't handle. HNNNNNGGGGGGGG....... ![]() I am like a fucking giddy little school girl, I love the way this car feels, the gadgets, the looks.... For the first time in 3 years I didn't open the garage door with a gun in my mouth. ![]() So anyway, I spent my first 2hrs of ownership getting a state inspection at the dealership. A couple of conference calls sitting in a leather recliner watching The Master's on a 65in tv, NOT BAD....STEP YOUR GAME UP TOYOTA! All went well, and got a courtesy wash...not sure if this is the norm or cause I knew the service advisor? Not much time in the car outside of to and from the dealership. Did a few errands around town in it today.....god fucking damnit! I FORGOT WHAT ITS LIKE TO OWN A CAR THAT'S NOT A REFRIGERATOR. I got BimmerCode up and running. Chris, Steve, do it. $25 for the obd2 adapter, $35 for the app, money well spent. Ended up changing up the welcome screens on the dash, HUD, and iDrive to M Performance vs the generic BMW screens. Didn't get a pic of the HUD. ![]() Before: After: Got Enhanced Bluetooth activated using the Enhanced coding mode. Which is not coding, you aren't actually editing lines of code in notepad or anything. You basically have all the lines of code laid out as individual options, and you click on it and a menu with your preset options pop up. It's borderline idiot proof. And people are paying hundreds of dollars for shops to do this..... I messed up somewhere along the way and my Voice recognition button stopped working. I apparently selected the wrong option on a line. But, it saves a stock backup upon initial install, so I reverted back to that and started over again. Easy. Enhanced Bluetooth allows for SMS, Email, 2 phones paired at once, album art with iPhone, Contact pics, and some stuff I'm forgetting. It basically modernizes the iDrive. Also coded the mirrors to fold instantly with key fob lock, radio off with door open, unlock when car turns off, and changed up some entry lighting options. It's an awesome app, and if you don't have an M Sport (Chris!), you can go in and activate Sport + with some Enhanced coding. Last night my eagerness got the best of me, and I installed the rear bumper LaminX. I should not have done this at midnight. It's not horrible, but it ain't perfect, I didn't get some gunk off the bumper, so it's bubbled a bit in some places. You wont notice unless you are looking for it. ![]() Installed the LaminX on the fogs. Before: ![]() After: ![]() I'm digging the tinted look. They blend in a bit more with the surround. I tried the headlights, but before I smoothed it out, I took a step back. I wasn't digging the look on the headlights, so I'm gonna re order clear, and wasted like $20, oh well. Test fit the Yakima bars I had for the Prius with the new feet, and they fit like a glove. ![]() ![]() ![]() So, springs will be here next week. Gonna try my hand at wrapping the interior trim tomorrow. Need to order some gloss black grills. Should I go single slat or dual slat? Get this thing tinted before summer, and snag a trailer hitch. To sum it all up.... ![]() |
