What should Chris Look into buying??
#1
As I graduate in May, I have lots of thoughts...like Taylor. I want something a bit more practical other than a 19 year old Mustang GT. Not that i'm selling it or anything, but it would be nice to have something to get around in bad weather in.

My first thought is ecoboost f150. Granted I will probably use a trailer a handful of times maximum owning a truck, but I would haul items in the bed. I am leaning more towards a truck than an suv. So let your opinions flow. What should Chris look into purchasing...

What's your budget? What's your intended use? Where will you live? Where will you work? What will you use the Mustang for?

Too many variables here.

Budget would be 10-15k, I would probably live somewhere like Charlottesville, and would use to haul an atv or a bike.

I do like GTI's though...

You're options this week are either a gti or a f31 BMW wagon

Hmmm. Not much of a wagon guy. I love GTI's but know almost nothing about them.

Oddly enough, I may even recommend a 2010 - 2012 Ford escape if you want a bit of hauling with some other utility. I'd only opt for the top of the line limited trim with a factory hitch. 5k towing with factory hitch, newer 6-spd transmission, and still a small truck-like feel without breaking the bank. For above $10k you can find one with low miles. They also have dual fuel injection (no issues with DI carbon build up).

For $15k a used mk7 gti would be nice. Plan for bigger maintenance costs around. Towing may be challenging, but if you're not towing often then I'd lean toward something more fun like that.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Have a bed setup. I'd rather not pull a trailer
