It's only 8 grand. And it's automatic so you don't have to use the excuse of learning to shift with your left hand.
Seriously, some of you all here have bought way bigger pieces of shit for more money than that

Might also be one of the best college road trip vehicles ever, minus the gas mileage (but fun factor) of the V8

As much as I dig an Alpine White e36 (though coupe for me please) on LTW's, I'd rather an e46 M3 for that money.

a stock, dirty, not-really-low mileage '05....probably $22, maybe 23 tops. '05 was a great year for the STi but that's not a particularly special car or color. really nice ones go for like 24-25 still even with "reliability" mods.

the best mod is a previous owner that knows what they're doing. a reliable turbo subaru is about 2 things - oil quality/control and getting rid of any detonation in the tune.
getting hold of a proper tune (as early as possible) and an aftermarket oil pickup tube is key. headgaskets can be an issue on old cars but with the turbos if you fix it once its pretty much good for life.
patiently awaiting Justin's rage...

I sold that car's twin (but much cleaner) in '08 with like 38k for...$22k, I think?
