MM Spring '14 Car Show - APRIL 5th

So, me posting the thread on TacomaWorld revived the thread about our huge annual meet at Steven Toyota. The former head guy is moving, so it looks like it's on me this time. Maybe we can tie MM into it? This meet is a HUGE event. People coming in from all over. Had a guy drive from AZ to come last time...

Let's make this a separate thread. Feel free to invite the Tacoma crowd to the MM show, but otherwise, sounds like a new topic

Trying to convince the GF that we should make the trip down from up here; hard time convincing since the last time we went (2 years ago) it was pretty much a disaster (food was late, low attendance). But the way this is looking, I shouldn't have a problem.

lol, it's just that 6+ hours in a car, alone, is a bitch.

And apparently we have a wedding the next weekend down there too so that'd be two weekends with half a day lost sitting in a car. Damn, now I have decisions to make.

How does this look? I'd hesitate on putting this out quite yet. We need to confirm on the articulation ramp and dyno. I'll put an edited version without those up in a second after I get some feedback.

Looks good. Guess it'd be pretty hard to make it look different than last year's.

I just feel like it doesn't sell it enough. Maybe mention how Steven Toyota is going to be there. Makes it seem more... professional? Also, Ryan deserves a shoutout, I'm sure.

I'm waiting on .png's of Bipolar Aware and Steven Toyota's logo as well. I simply am not certified to be using illustrator. Amazing software but I've never touched it until now and we just don't have enough time to make a new one.

Okay someone is going to hate me for this but whatever. I swear I'm not hating or trying to cause problems, but more like just playing devils advocate or something.

What's going to make people, who are coming from a distance and who are not apart of our club, want to register and show up for our event? If I were currently in Richmond, I would have read that flyer and said "cool awesome, hope they have fun" and move on. There wasn't a grabbing factor. In fact, this isn't just with the flyer its our entire ad campaign. We need to come up with some kind of prize or attraction that are really going to make people think "wow this could be worth my time, oh I should bring my buddies too." Sooo..I think we should brainstorm a bit and come up with that grabbing factor and highlight it on the flyers/posters that we put around. For example, I don't know that I could possibly somehow win the euro class with my car based on this current flyer. Also, maybe we could have all the vendors titles running across the bottom so people know who to expect.

This just came to mind, Maybe we could even make a video to go along with the flyer for the interwebs? Idk, maybe we could get together and shoot cars in rolling shots, get the alumni to send vid/pics of their awesome cars, someone who has editing skills make it into a kickass video and we use that as promotion as well. Something to make us look like we're much hotter shit than we already are. I think that will get people hype about the event. Maybe Joey could even contact the guy who drove his M3 to give the autoshow a shoutout or promote said video...

Idk just throwing something out there to make people feel like it will be 100% worth their time, because in all honestly, the only reason why its currently worth my time is because I'm in hburg, I'm in the club and go to jmu. Okay. Spiel over. Whattaya think? :dunno: Oh yeah, post some info/pics/awesomeness on the facebook page too!

No I somewhat agree with you as well! This is just a picture. On forum threads that's where you will need to express other things that are going to be there I suppose. It's difficult to get everything into one single picture.

I think we can advertise the insane amount of prizes we have for the bazillion categories there are.

Also, definitely try to put a map picture like in the Steven meet from earlier. I hate to keep referring to this, but this flier worked VERY well.

I'm gonna go hunt down every freakin' SMAD major i know on this damn campus and then every SMAD major that person knows until I get someone to whip something up for us. Can't be too hard right? SMAD majors are everywhere
