DJ - If you want a $400ish e30 let me know, motor needs work, might have taken a small hit in the front? I dunno, havnet checked the car out at all, just a friend of a friend.

Navin thanks for the offer, but the GSX has to get out of here before I take on any project and of course im back and forth everyday and what I want to do. This week its nice daily and then just a beater e30, e36 or fox-body. Last week it was a corvette, week before it was an s2000. Next week itll be who knows what. I keep my options open, as with the GSX it took me a year to decide I wanted a GSX over other cars (I drove over 30 different cars, and yes I picked the gsx over integras, s2000s, wrxs, evos) , and then a year to find the gsx I wanted. Im a very patient person.

Goodspeed/Rex-
Would I come out ahead if I traded this guy my ninja 250 for this supra? I only have $1500 in the 250 and I'm going to be selling it before I head back to school. Seems like this might be worth more than that with the extra wheels, etc. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://roanoke.craigslist.org/mcy/1286437361.html">http://roanoke.craigslist.org/mcy/1286437361.html</a><!-- m -->

If the engine is installed, I would want to know how it was done, if he did the subframe swap or what.
The wiring isn't all that complicated, but the best thing to do is actually drill through the firewall and relocate the ecu than to "extend" the wiring harness (which is bullshit). but the 1JZ is an aammaaaaazzziiiiinnnnggg engine. I <3'd it. But yeah, if you're willing to put the work into it, it would make a great tourer. But keep in mind, it's fuckin' heavy.

Holy shitballs, a 1J MKIII for a 250 bike? I'd jump on it dude. Like Rex said, the pre-'89 cars need a subframe swap. I'd want to know more about the quality of the work, the source of the motor and a compression test on it. Check the turbos to make sure the ceramic blades haven't ruined themselves. But yeah, 300 smooth HP for a stupid low investment sounds like a good deal. If it doesn't work out sell it for a profit. The 7M cars have gone way down but the 1JZ cars still bring plenty of attention. Post pics.

Real Ford GT40 MKII back up car that was at LeMans in '66 - All original, unrestored survivor. I'm guessing the price is one of those if you have to ask you can't afford it kinda things.
http://www.motorclassiccorp.com/CarDetail.cfm?ID=87 Check out the rest of this guys inventory as well, incredible.

probably the only car on the planet that I would kill a man for.
edit: you sure that was at lemans? that interior looks an awful lot like a streetcar interior, and I thought the racecars were LHD.

From the cars description:
Quote:Ford GT/40 This is a 1966 Ford GT/40 MK II, 7-liter, one of thirteen built. The MK II GT/40 provided the first win for Ford Motor Company at LeMans in 1966. Three MK II 7-liter GT/40 Fords crossed the finish line simultaneously at the end of 24 hours. This car was present at LeMans in 1966. This is one of the original thirteen cars and remains unrestored, in excellent running and driving condition, with original body work and paint. It is one of three of the original thirteen that is known as an Alan Mann Lightweight as it was built with an aluminum clad (not steel) upper monocoque. The car also comes with its original Certificate of Origin from Ford Motor Company and has a well known provenance including being featured by Ford in their Autolite Spark Plug advertising of the period. It yet retains its original tachometer correction detail tag installed by Ford on all the LeMans 1966 MK II's. All of the MKII's were RHD but with the shifter on the right instead of the left like most other European cars. This was done for the predominately American team of drivers who were accustomed to LHD race cars.

Is that a tow strap holding down the motor?

.RJ Wrote:Is that a tow strap holding down the motor? Looks like a homemade torque strap so the engine won't rip out the drivers side motor mount.

yeah..unmodified is what I meant.
This guy has been trying to hawk that car for months. If it was unmodified and in that condition he'd likely have sold it by now

Nowhere in mind mind worth the 30k+ he is asking for it, but thats cause I could care less about it being a real LTW instead of just ripping out the A/C, stereo and shit to make it as light as one and throwing on an LTW high-rise wing.
