Car is all finished and runs. It has for about 2.5 months now. Its fast. Spins tires on highway.. Its bad ass.

I can help answer that dave since i mapped out and made the IC piping.
The cold side of the IC piping is super bad ass. Maybe a foot of piping at most. As for the hot side there really wasnt anywhere else to run it. The only way to have made it shorter would have been to 45 degree that 90 bend and shorted the route alittle. But then that would have left a super sharp bend going into the hot side of the IC. It does look long but you have to think its a rabbit and the engine bay is small. I deff have a ton more IC piping in the SC its just all hidden.

I was just looking at it thinking that you could have done an intercooler that enters and exits on the same side and routed the hot side piping to the passenger side of the engine bay over the cold side piping. I was literally only thinking about piping length, not pipe diameter, space, angles, or any of the other important things that come into play when you're plumbing.
That engine fits...

What's up everyone? I haven't been on here in forever. But thanks for all the props guys!! I want to thank Blair for posting up some pics and getting everyone up to speed. This whole working full time thing isn't very much fun, but the money is nice. The car runs awesome and is a blast to drive. These projects never do end though, I still have plenty of work ahead of me. I bought a new trans last week with a Peloquin LSD and TDI 5th gear (higher ratio for better highway cruising) installed in it. So I'll be installing that in a few weeks along with changing the oil pan out to a steel unit to gain ground clearance and have a stronger pan that won't crack. Then of course interior and paint work. The list goes on.....but until then it drives and is reliable, decently fast too!

That's sorta the same thing I am doing with the filter on my Jeep. I'm not actually putting the filter in the cowl but the intake for my custom air box will pull from the cowl. Looks sweet Paul...you are like Blair...everything you touch turns to fucking gold.

I get a lot of compliments on my air intake. Most people put a filter directly on the turbo, but that pulls in very hot air from being right next to the exhaust. I just wanted to get it out of the engine bay, that was the best place I saw for it as it is sealed off from the bay. It's a good thing I enjoy fabrication work because this car took a lot! I should get down there and hit some trails with you before I sell my Jeep.

Well I haven't been on here in months. After sitting on a computer all day at work, it's one of the last things I want to do at night. But I do need to try to keep in touch with everyone. Warm weather is just around the corner and we will all be out driving with the windows down very soon. I did some work this past weekend and actually snapped a few pictures while in the process. I purchased a trans a few months back that had a LSD and taller ratio 5th gear which has been sitting on the garage floor since I purchased it. I went over Nates to install it in my car and when I picked up the trans there was a nice puddle of oil underneath it. Well that sucks, guess we have to pull it apart and reseal it because clearly someone didn't do it right the first time. Well after starting to dismantle this trans last week it got even better. There was a bolt that someone stripped out and proceeded to drill out and tap to fit a standard sized bolt in. Ok, that's not terrible but it's not right. So now I'm really not thrilled about this trans. Oh, it gets better...went to take out the bolt that holds 5th gear to the main shaft and it had been crossthreaded to it broke off when I turned it. Upon inspecting the case I found a very small crack in it, which was most likely causing the leak. Just great, is there anything good left in this trans. Well luckily being the VW junkie that I am, I happened to have another stock O2A transmission sitting on the garage floor. So I was able to canibalize parts from my extra trans to make one badass and correctly assembled transmission. We even use VW sealant to reseal the case. I'm just relieved that it did have the Peloquin limited slip differential in it along with the TDI 5th gear (counted the teeth to verify). This was my first experience tearing apart a VW transmission and it really wasn't that bad. Should have this installed in a few weeks I hope. It will be a whole new experience driving the car. I'll def take some pictures and write about it when I swap it out. I plan on doing some other hybrid tricks when I install it.
