Why is Dodge still in business? Surely getting fully into bed with Fiat isn't going to help their reliability. Who buys these cars other than Jeff?
I was a little surprised to see Jeep that far down on the list.
Why? Aren't they Dodge for all intents and purposes? Great resale though because :bro:

This past week was a blur. Derek, it was great to meet you at the autoX and way to go taking first in novice! Still hope I can get my hands on one of these in the future. I was sad when they discontinued the manual in the CTS and the ATS gave me new hope I could afford a GM RWD manual-trans car.

I forgot you even had that car.
Apparently it's made of unobtanium or something. It did take them a couple weeks to get parts in.
This is a first world problem rant, but I'm going to continue... I went to pick it up yesterday, and of course it was raining all day. This was fixed at the Jim Stutzman Cadillac/Chevrolet dealership's body shop. So I stop in and pay them off, and guess what, the car is parked across the road. So that's a hike across the road in the rain, and the car is not sitting any place dry so I can give it a visual once over, and is completely wet. As anyone will tell you, never buy a car while it's wet. You can't see crap for detail. So I get to wash it sometime this weekend when it's dry, and check it out for imperfections.
Basically, never buy/service a Cadillac at a dealership that does anything else. The few times I've had to deal with Moore down in chantilly, they've been all "yes sir, no sir, let me get that for you sir" and I didn't even buy shit from them. It *feels* like you've bough a Cadillac and it is something special. I think from now on I'm going to trek the 40 miles out of my way to go down there because of that. When I was looking at a different car down there before I bought this one, they let me pull it into one of those "light box" looking bays to look it over real good.

fwiw, every dealer bodyshop Ive used has been crap
Yeah, I think I am done giving them any more business. They had painted the roof my my malibu one time when there was some crows-feet type issues (under warranty right after it was brand new). That came out flawless and they even touched up a couple of other places for free without me saying anything. I was pretty happy about that, and that's why I took the cadillac back down there.
Back to this saga - The headlights got adjusted, and i made them re-adjust the hood because the gap on one side was twice as much as the other (i measured with calipers). The headlights are still fucked up and I'm going to have to get back down there for them. They usually come on when you turn the car on, and do a little self diagonstic dance. Now they wobble around like they're cross-eyed, even though they end up right, that's irritating as shit. Worse yet, the one on the other side of the car from the deer strike sounds like it's grinding around in there - so I don't know if it got shifted or what. need to either check that out as part of this claim, or get it checked under warranty.

So I ordered up those Conti DWS tires. They got in, a week later I also ordered a full set of OEM Cadillac rims, and pulled two of them to replace my 2 front rims, which previous owner had scuffed. I had firestone tire in winchester unmount both full sets, remount the Continentals, move the TPMS to the new rims, etc etc. They did an ok job, but it was expensive as shit - $230 for that labor. I didn't ask before I had them do it because I kind of figured $10/tire rough estimate so maybe $120 + tpms rebuild which I dont think is another $110
Anyhow - day 3, I notice I got a slow leak, and also the TPMS is not synced to the right tires. Idiots. Look in manual, requires that TPMS tool to reset the corners. So I go back down there and also get them to check the tire for the leak - sure enough, a damn screw in my brand new tire. They took it off the rim and patched it from the inside. They ended up doing this for free, probably because they knew they messed up on the TPMS. Overall satisfaction rating B- I guess.
Got a chance to test the tires Friday night in winchester when it started snowing and raining at the same time, completely covering the roads in a short period of time. I drove home trying to stay in other people's tracks, etc. The tires performed awesome, no slippage. Way better than I expected.

Glad you like those tires, I was always impressed with them. Sucks that your past few service-y visits to shops have required trips back to correct things.
Did the dealer/body shop get your headlight issues sorted out?

Is this your first car with "low-pro" tires? Most places around here charge depending on the profile of the tire and 45 or under will run you $20-30/wheel depending on the place.
To be fair I've personally mounted quite a few sets and anything under a 50 profile is a bitch. I have no idea how people wrap a 295/30 on a 19x11 wheel like on a 911 or something. Just brute force and lots of lube I guess.

Oh good memory - I forgot to update. I started going to Moore Cadillac instead of stutzman in winchester - it's an entirely better experience! I wasn't sure how it was going to be, because the first service guy i talked to seemed like a dolt. He transferred me to this guy Craig, and craig knows his shit. Long story short, I went in about the light, and they fixed a few other TSBs and such.
About the light - they had to order it. They ended up having my car for 4 days I guess diagnosing the problem, etc. This was kind of annoying, but I had an ATS loaner, so not the end of the world. The light problem ended up being the vertical adjustment servos were not actuating or something. This makes me really suspicious that the guys at stutzman stuck the old motor and shit into a new housing and called it a day, all the while charging my insurance $1300 for a "new light"
I didn't mention the previous work or anything - and Moore never mentioned anything about the deer impact. They just fixed it, and I was on my way. I did have to wait for the light to come in, so I had another trip down there for that, but it was no big deal because they gave me another loaner.
The main TSB fix was they actually did a job that involved pulling all spark plugs, checking for damage, and doing an ECU tune. Apparently there's been some denonation problems or something (i didnt research it), and causing some cylinder wall problems or whatever. I dont know what the ECU reflash did, but I've been getting about 1MPG better gas mileage since then.
And yes, I guess it's my first low profile tire care, though i guess i am so used to seeing stanced shit and whatnot, that I just assumed what I have is the new normal

Oh it is the new normal, I can't remember the last time I saw a new car with larger than a 45 side profile unless it's a base model econobox or an SUV/truck. Doesn't stop 'em for charging more for 'em though. At least 17" and 18" tires have gotten a lot cheaper since so many cars come stock with wheels at least that size.
