Might as well start this thread. I'll post some better pictures later, but you can see the first few I took with my cell phone in the "Want a new daily" thread.
Car:
2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0t/6MT in Premium trim package
"Caramel" interior..but i prefer to say saddle
Bought it used with 11,xxx miles on it.
Some first impressions:
Had to drive a lot of interestate driving back from CT to get it home. Adequate on the highway, pulls hard in 4th getting up on the ramps and such.
I havent had a chance to really thrash it around on any back roads or anything. I am actually surprised though that cruising 75-80 on the interstate last night, and then DMV trip + work today, I am averaging 25.2 or so. I have heard that its pretty easy with a tune to get more oomph and mileage.
Upcoming:
-Some wheel curb rash repair or seeking a replacement (has anyone done this to aluminum wheels in MM?)
-Replace a rear plastic piece that is scuffed up that surrounds the exhaust tips
-Investigate tune further
-Perhaps autocross? Isnt that what people with RWD manuals do?

I also forgot..upcoming also includes getting a proper detail.
I almost wish I had told the dealership to not even try cleaning it. The actually did a good job in some places with getting the black to look all nice and smooth, but there are a few places where its just annoying to look at. Maybe i can catch ole dan in northern va sometime.

It's pretty, in a tastefully blingy way. Really curious how it treats you over the course of ownership. How long are you planning to keep it? You seem to put a ton of miles on cars (from what I remember with the Malibu) so should be a good test of the powertrain!
Glad Joey posted the Macklemore song or else I would've. Love it.

Great choice! !! So much better than an old beamer! A tune and exhaust would do that car well. Search D3 Cadillac for your inspiration.

Thanks. I'm not sure how long I'll keep it. I just had a bad itch to scratch for something more comfortable. I hope to keep it maybe 2 -3 years anyway, and keep some of the miles off it.
I bought it CPO so it has bumper to bumper and powertrain out to 70k. If I was driving it every day and continue to live in WV and work in VA that'd be ~2 years. Hopefully I can stretch that to at least 3 by keeping the malibu (and/or moving back to VA next year sometime)

a 4 cyl, manual transmission caddy? Well now I've seen everything. :o
I had to look up "driver awareness package". I guess that's along the same naming scheme as "The Patriot Act". It is apparently a driver unawareness package. And it shakes your ass when you're going to hit something! I guess that's what the PO was using (enjoying?) when he backed into a curb?

Yeah..it's also a "you forgot to use your signal when you changed lanes" alert. The automatics come with one additional feature that is adaptive cruise control. I dont know why they dont put it on the manuals. The infiniti i test drove the other day was a manual and had it.
The seat buzzes on either side if you're drifting in lane, or the whole thing if someone brake checks in front of you. I dont think it actually applies any brakes though, but I havent been close enough to someone for that to try to go off. The HUD does throw up a big red crash symbol though if its happens.

Lets get some pillows and try it at Turkduken. You can crash it into the VW, I don't care.
(I know I misspelled turducken but I'm leaving it cause Kaan is hosting this year.)

pretty wild. Is it like this on the HUD? That would be awesome.
Yeah that's kind of odd on the CC, I would be a bit dissapointed by that

70k miles in 2 years? Shit man, you need to move. That's 44 full days of waking hours (assuming 8 hours sleep) spent driving at 50mph.
Edit: Didn't account for 11k miles already being on it so cut 15% off the 44. Still terrible.

Well in this bozo economy I've been waiting on the housing market to come back enough to where I can at least break even. I'm finally not under water on it, but it's unclear whether it would sell for what I bought at. Either way, I'll probably put it on the market in the spring and see what happens. If nothing even comes close, probably rent it out.

So I guess the ECU had to re-map itself since i've owned it or something. I've been putting 93 in it, and I was kind of surprised the gas mileage coming back from CT, and then down to roanoke this weekend was like 24 with clearly all highway miles. Filled up again in roanoke and drove back home last night and got about 29.9 (this is all according to the on-board computer). Anyway, I hope that's just a sign maybe the previous owner who I think was a corporate exec at GM was just dumping 87 in it or something and it had to re-adjust.
Also, this is definitely the best handling car I've owned. I drive home a lot of times taking summit pt. road which I'm sure you guys are familiar with. It has a lot of dips and such, and it feels like the car is just absolutely glued to the road. A+ so far in that dept.

I've never gotten the logic of people that buy an expensive turbo car, then "save money" by putting regular in it, getting worse gas mileage and less power than they paid for. :dunno:
It took the GTI a couple weeks to adjust to my driving habits and stop shifting through 1-6 before hitting boost, even at moderate throttle. Pretty sure it never got above 35 mph with its previous owners in Alexandria.
