Why may I not use the oem gasket? I'm using the same piping. Is the gasket destroyed from unbolting the exhaust from the axle-back? (I haven't ever touched exhaust systems before) Here are diagrams:
It will most likely not be salvageable ... We could always try and make you run to the parts store to see if it leaks.

Yeah I guess that makes sense haha.
But, I just realized I'll need an extra 3-6 inches of 2.25" pipe to fit in between the muffler and tip to extend the tip to my bumper.... sigh. Anyone know of a good place to get some or have some extra in that small amount? If I can't find any I'll for sure have to go to the shop because I don't feel like buying 2 or 3 or 4 feet of it online lol..
Advanced and autozone usually carry 1-2 foot pieces.
And we might be able to salvage some off the old set up

Screw it let's do it. Remove the 2nd cat for a straight pipe and replace the muffler. I'll buy 2 feet and that should be enough. But Ill take a quick measure just in case. I'll order some by the end of the weekend probably. This is going to sound good once it is done
Make sure it won't cause a code (in addition to making it louder)

2nd cat isn't monitored on my car, thankfully only the first cat is.
I ordered the gasket + muffler/tip. Just need to order a reducer (because a larger diameter magnaflow muffler wouldn't fit on my car because it increased the length of the whole muffler) and extra pipe in at the end of the month once I get paid. And everything will be all set to make a meet.
I'm in for spectating and drinking as well!

The girlfriend is a quick learner.. I was oh so proud. Lets not forget the angle grinder to clean up those burrs.
The 10th of November or the next weekend will work for me. My brother is coming down the 8th/9th so I'll be busy those days.
I'd like to do my own welding but uhhhh I'm kind of scared to ruin my stuff.
