Exhaust Shop near Hburg - rherold9 - 10-24-2013 Just wondering if anyone knows of a decent or good shop near the burg that can do a little bit of welding and some things to fit a muffler/tip on to my exhaust. Thinking of picking up a magnaflow muffler and magnaflow tip and have them welded together. Then have my exhaust cut right before the stock muffler and have the new magnaflow muffler/tip in place of the old muffler. As simple as that. Magnaflow muffler same size as stock exhaust and tip so just a simple weld/cut job. If anyone knows of a place who can simply do that it would be great to know. Thanks! Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - ispoonwithmugen - 10-24-2013 Yeah I went to Bill's Muffler twice and have had good luck. They welded a Summit Racing onto my HKS midpipe on the WRX. https://plus.google.com/100307319317347 ... l=us&hl=en Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - rherold9 - 10-24-2013 Alright, I'll take a look. I'm not looking for an expensive place either but I want a pretty good job done. Also, even anyone in the club has any skills that could help or partly get the job done that would be cool too. Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - Kaan - 10-24-2013 I have a sawzall and welder (gas fed)... it takes time to do it right when you are working off the ground so taking it to a muffler shop might be the best way to go. if we did it at my house in middletown you would need to make sure you can still drop your axel back... once its marked for cutting, it needs to go back on the car to tack the muffler on (to make sure its level and straight), then pulled back off the car for the complete weld up (all this is done much faster at the muffler shop with a lift, tall trans mission stands, air tools, etc.) Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - rherold9 - 10-24-2013 Kaan Wrote:I have a sawzall and welder (gas fed)... it takes time to do it right when you are working off the ground so taking it to a muffler shop might be the best way to go. if we did it at my house in middletown you would need to make sure you can still drop your axel back... once its marked for cutting, it needs to go back on the car to tack the muffler on (to make sure its level and straight), then pulled back off the car for the complete weld up (all this is done much faster at the muffler shop with a lift, tall trans mission stands, air tools, etc.) I'll keep this in mine. I could bring tools as needed and jacks/stands as well from the MM garage. But, let me see what 3 shops say including the one above. I wouldn't mind taking a day out come early morning and finish by night is not a big issue for me. Of course I'd throw some monies your way for the big help. Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - Kaan - 10-24-2013 You don't need to bring tools ... Just a new exhaust gasket #if you can't find the right tool in my garage you probably shouldn't be working on cars Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - V1GiLaNtE - 10-24-2013 Kaan Wrote:#if you can't find the right tool in my garage you probably shouldn't be working on cars QFTFT  Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - rherold9 - 10-24-2013 Bill's muffler said they'd do it for anywhere from $40-60 other places were way higher. Hmm. I think it would be better to just drive the hour and chill with alumni? Besides I like working on my car anyways... sigh the struggle for convenience vs cheap. lol. What does everyone think? (I know the answer) Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - Jake - 10-24-2013 Kaan is a riot. Sylvia makes bangalangin food. Anyone else who shows up to drink will be entertaining. So long as Kaan does the welding and you don't light yourself on fire, I think I can pick the more fun option... Although just dropping it at a shop would be much easier... But no Kaan Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - JPolen01 - 10-24-2013 Add another for drinking/watching (if it's a Sunday). Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - rherold9 - 10-24-2013 haha looks like we are going to have a little MM party over my riced exhaust mod I want. Sounds good to me! So who is cool with the 9th/10th of November? I say 10th so Jon can make it. I assume others would be able to as well on the 10th? Also, why would I need a new gasket? I'm not completely replacing my system with another, just a cut/weld? Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - JPolen01 - 10-24-2013 I can't make it that weekend, but don't plan around me. Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - rherold9 - 10-25-2013 That's really the next free weekend possible so that's why I was making it then. What about everyone else? Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-25-2013 rherold9 Wrote:Also, why would I need a new gasket? I'm not completely replacing my system with another, just a cut/weld? The gasket for the axle-back. He is going to pull the axle back after tacking it on, and then fully weld the rest of it off the car. Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - Kaan - 10-25-2013 I'm not free on Nov 10 ![]() Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - Kaan - 10-25-2013 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:rherold9 Wrote:Also, why would I need a new gasket? What? :bootyshake: Re: Exhaust Shop near Hburg - NTIman - 10-25-2013 I've gotta work until 1 on the 9th, but I'm in for spectating when I get off. |
