That is pretty cool. It's pretty amazing that someone spent $52k modifying this car in the late 90s. I think that is close to $85k today with inflation.

that's the kind of car i would think i'd never see on an online auction site because it would just change hands discreetly between collectors. i bet the noise is amazing.

Goodness... I have loved those cars for so long, no doubt I will miss the boat and they will suddenly go through the roof. (Would take a V8 version with eventual swap in mind)

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
When I went to Germany in 2007 these were everywhere at a random track day at the hockenheim ring. Similar to how we have na miatas at the track.

What about that car makes it worth $130,000?!?!?

No chance it sells for anywhere close to that, but here's the build sheet. Looks like there's over $78k in labor.
If you read the comments and look at the pics, supposedly the owner is some sort of ridiculous collector/restorer. Not sure how he managed $78k in labor, but yeah.

It's a 67? I thought these kinds of cars were new. I'm so confused.

The Caterham build is new, but they titled it as a Lotus 7. My guess is it has something to do with antique status and/or taxes.
