in all honesty that green color is amazing.  its so well suited to that car's character.

The 70s were the Porsche color heyday, if you ask me. The car wasn't even clean and it was raining a bit, but the lighting just worked on getting the green to pop. I offered to let them use it as a prop for an upcoming meet up. Some of these guys (admins) are the ones doing those fantastic videos you see on BaT, so I'd love to see what they come up with. They wanted to target doing something during sunset in the spring.

no foglights required, this isnt a fucking rally car (although, a safari 911 would probably be easier to drive in seattle)

Are the fog lights aftermarket? Or not original to that car? I'm sure it's nice to have the extra light but I'm with RJ - they look out of place. I think it's the rectangular shape.

How is this car doing?

Still rotting in my garage. I take it to run errands on occasion, but it's not uncommon for me to go five days without leaving the house so it's not like I'm putting a ton of miles on any car. I run it 3-4x/week, which it prefers over sitting for days at a time.

New shocks were on the docket before I went on medical leave last year. I got a new job about two weeks after COVID broke out, so I haven't had any real reason to chase that to this point. I'll probably get more serious about that next spring.

I like the work that shop does but dealing with the laid back west coast owner drives me nuts.

My kingdom for a shop that does good work at a decent price where I can work out all the parts details and scheduling via timely response emails.

So this happened. The car hadn't been out of the garage all winter, so I took it to get gas and visit the asian market. A cold, wet morning, metal joints on a bridge, and likely underinflated tires got me into a tank slapper on a single lane bridge. I'd estimate my speed to be about 35 mph. After the third attempt to save it, I went both feet in and prepared to pinball from concrete wall to concrete wall. The car pivoted 90° to the right and slid sideways down the road with only the front bumper coming in contact with the right wall. No body panels were damaged - just the front bumper, valence, and fog lights. Got really lucky. I was able to drive it home and park it in the garage. Perhaps the oddest side effect, which I didn't realize until days later, is the windshield popped out.

I've called around a few shops but I'm having a helluva time finding people to work on a car this old. My only real choice is restoration shops or to do the work myself; then finding a painter. For now, I'm just trying to get the windshield back in. I'm on my 4th or 5th try and think I may have found my guy. He does glass installs for restorations and said he'd come look at it for $30 and no warranty. Apparently these windshields are a total fucknut and installing them requires the hard to find gasket, linseed oil, cordage, and two people - one to push from outside and one to pull the cords from the inside. I'm guesstimating a 50/50 shot this one goes back in without breaking. 

I thought about going big time with new fiberglass bumpers but have ruled it out. I just don't think they're practical given I live in a city do use it for errands on occasion. I think I might be able to get away with repainting the bumper and putting new rubber molding in. The valance will need to be replaced, but the car can be driven as is. Probably the biggest decision is what to do with the fog lights, as I've always wanted to move then but don't want to drill for it. Really, just gonna take it one step at a time and see where we end up.

In case you were wondering, driving three pedals with kimchi everywhere is about as difficult as it looks.
