So the rest of you Honda Fanboi's wouldn't notice while he bought all of it up for the Acura "pantydropper" project..herhmm.. I mean integra. :bootyshake:
navin Wrote:Not sure whether to blame my Plastidip problems on the actual product or using it when it was cold as phuck outside. Probably should have warmed the cans up in the sink or something, but needless to say the removal process sucked for the wheels I used them on (949 6ul). I have orange bits still around my driveway.
Justin -- has anyone removed plastidip'd and then regular paint over the plastidip wheels yet. I thought I read about some weird reactions when you do that and makes it hard to remove... but that's probably just the internet talking
ps. Lots of UG in stock via Amazon Prime, dunno why Kaan thought it was discontinued.
You absolutely have to apply plastidip in warm temps, like 60+, or it turns out like poo.
You can paint over plastidip but it apparently makes removal a pain in the ass. Check the Dipyourcar.com forums. Some of the shit people do is absolutely stupid.
As a note, after seeing a plastidipped BRZ at the last autoX, I will never paint an entire car with that stuff (had thought about it for the Hatchpile). Looks like absolute shit once you are within 10 feet of the car.

QFT. Have you seen the guy that dipped his leased G35 then proceeded to powerwash it off using a 15,000 PSI sprayer? Took the plastidip right off with the rest of his paint. What an idiot.

No I didnt, but it isnt surprising. His flat brimmed hat was probably too tight on his dome piece.
DIN pocket installed, drilled some holes in the back to feed my phone charger through. Only unfortunate thing is the door won't shut with the iPod cord, so ran the iPod into the glovebox. My only gripe with all the new radios out now, the front USB port.....why the fuck would I want it on the front. But everyone is doing radios that way. I'd much rather have it hook up on the rear of the radio and run the cord to my glove box or console.
Installed a Kartboy delrin shift knob a few weeks ago. Its nice, but not $50, nice, glad I got it used for $25.
My Kenwood in the E36 and JVC in the E34 both had rear USB ports. It was hard to find a head unit that did, though.
So your phone charger just comes out of the DIN pocket, implying it's wired in somewhere?

Wire is run under the center console and plugged into the USB cigg charger in the center console.
May wire up a cigg lighter behind the radio. But the wire is hidden pretty well. So I dunno.

Why have an ipod at all? I just have a 16gb tiny usb flash drive (similar to this one: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Fl ... 648&sr=8-1) that has mp3s on it and I plug it into that front usb port.

Still just as easy to navigate through the songs??? If that is the case bye bye iPOD
It probably depends on the UI of your particular receiver but with mine, you just push one of the buttons to go to the next folder and use the track up/down to play songs in that folder. Pretty simple!

Yup....mine worked the same way. Just grabbed a 16gb from best buy for $13
Sent the V1 Access Port to Cobb for the $200 credit. Hoping to have V2 here soon. STi Uppipe should be here today. Then contemplating a downpipe?!?!?!?!
Cobb dynoed a bone stock XT @ 190 AWHP, 215 TQ. Figure 190 @ 25% drivetrain loss, should be closer to 235 CHP. Apparently these were underrated by Subaru at wopping 210 CHP from the factory.
Stage1 needs no further modding past what I already have. Approx 29% HP Increase, 21% TQ over stock @ 13.5 psi Peak, tapering to 10psi by 6700rpm
Stage 2, I just need a DP. Approx 36% HP, 32% TQ over stock. @ 14.5 psi Peak, tapering to 10 by 6700rpm
Decisions....decisions.......how much power do I need to get Averie to Daycare on time?????
Just went stage 2 today. hitting a solid 18 psi

All of it.
Idk what it is with manufacturers underrating turbah cars from the factory. Mine is supposed to have 200hp/207hp at the crank, but actually dynos something like 220/220 depending on who you believe. Jake's ST is supposed to have 250/270 at the motor but its closer to what they actually put down.
I'm getting more and more tempted to get the Revo tune for mine. It would be pointless in 1st and 2nd because I can already shred the skinny little all seasons, but 299 torques on the highway for passing purposes sounds pretty fun.

Apparently the turbo is a big limiting factor on the XT. But I am holding off on swapping to the VF39 or VF43 for now.....
Trying to stay on top of this slope I seem to be heading toward.

Cobb's OTS tunes were pretty poop back in the day, I don't know how much has changed. If it was me I would Protune it and call it a day...if you get really bored go ahead and add a meth kit in the future. I wouldn't swap out turbos on a family hauler that was meant to be reliable. You are rapidly approaching a slope of no return with your Subaru, ask me how I know

Well the thing with the turbo is, no other changes need to be made. Fuel and spark are fine as is. Just get a lil more boost and the turbo won't be maxed out.
But a turbo is in the far distant future, if ever
The OTS COBB tunes seem to be fine now. I know people still tweak some power out but ihavent seen any complaints on the OTS maps.
They ran stupid rich in the past, just something to keep your eye on
