Really? Another Miata thread....
That C-clamp should be mounted on your garage wall as a trophy.

Sorry to hear of the struggles, I've definitely had similar days of "progress" (ask Chris Davis how my diff swap went) but glad that it worked out for you in the end. Definitely a good idea to re-check yer nuts once you are all done but before dropping the car on the ground for VIR.

Grab a paint pen and do a nut and bolt after a test drive. Then mark all checked bolts with paint pen across the nut/flange.

buddy, i feel your pain, honestly.

that bolt looks like a real bastard. if they ridged the head of it, its definitely meant to serve some kind of safety/vibration function. make sure it goes back on good and tight.

if i learned anything from my last struggle with a stubborn bolt (lower ball joint on my xterra) it was that heat was king. MAP torch saved the day, keep one handy and do a combo move with the BFH.

Currently my life....

Swapped springs on all corners with ease. Went to install front dampers and got a sharp pain in my elbow after a few minutes when trying to hold the weight of the damper. Worked through it and got both sides in hand threaded. Didn't bother tightening up. Need to adjust one damper mount as it's not sitting flush. Just didn't feel like finishing with the elbow. Fun stuff...

Yeah, I'll be painting a line on the nuts and bolts. I'll be torquing everything to spec without loctite. Unless it's better to just loctite and struggle later. Rather not make it harder to remove suspension components later, but not sure on what's best. Positive news is all rear ball joints feel good. None feel super loose or tight.

Probably going to have to call reinforcements to help finish the car if the pain keeps up when working

We have 8 rooms, actually. Lots of room for activities, especially the garage, that's where the magic happens  Wink

Dont push through and ignore elbow pain. I did and as a result it got MUCH worse and hasnt healed in 3 years that no amount of physical therapy has been able to fix.

I'm not. I've iced several times today and am actually skipping them gym for once and not touching the car. Don't want this to linger. I've never had a long standing injury in my life. Not about to have it start over a fucking slide hammer.

I really need to get the car done though so hopefully a week's rest is enough for it to relax a bit. Pretty annoyed, atm. I'll hopefully be able to bribe Justin since Cabell is busy this weekend

Had the spindle back on, arms attached and then move to final arm to see this...

Sigh... What it's supposed to look like

Lol friend did wheel bearings. Apparently they fucked up bad. After spending 45 minutes trying to bend it back I thought it's probably wouldn't be safe to bend this back. Guess it's time to go buy a used spindle Smile

Going to need a new toe arm now too. Allen key stripped when tightening. So I had to put a vise-grips on the ball joint end to stop it from spinning and got it out. Damn this is getting fun! I've given up on being mad and am just wondering what's next? Any guesses?

Oh and almost forgot... the lower power steering hose was replaced with a different one with the Track Dog Racing kit, but it wasn't sealing enough and was leaking fluid. I tried tightening the worm clamp down more and of course that broke. For fucks sake even the little things. Need to figure out a better solution for it to seal....

With 12 days to go until the season starts, will Ryan make it? Will something else break and need to be replaced? Will Ryan finally decide to burn the car down? Find out on the next episode of Ryan works on his car!
