Yes.

Its most common that they're mixed in, and the 'foam' floats to the top.  There's some technique to getting it right but it really changes the texture of the drink.  A fancy one I made the other day was equal parts barrel aged gin & amaro, dash bitters, egg white, lemon twist.  If you've ever had a pisco sour, the egg is what makes it foamy.

you can also sub the vermouth for amaro... black manhattan.

Give this a shot: https://www.feebrothers.com/products/bit...itters.php

For the average home bar though...

However, I'll definitely try that out.

Since it's National Tequila Day, I will tell you to drink a Paloma today:

HERE'S WHAT YA NEED
Reposado Tequila. None of that jose cuervo bullshit. You want 100% blue agave tequila. I normally go El Jimador but like, spend a little, ok?
1 Grapefruit. This is the only appropriate use for grapefruit, aka the most irresponsibly named fruit of all time.
1 Lime. Lime and tequila is like peanut butter and jelly, y'all.
1 Bottle of Jarrito's grapefruit soda yeaaaaaaaaah boy. Dónde están mis gringos, eh?
Rimming salt if you extra boujee

Rim your glass if you're down with rimjobs

Ice in a glass, BAM!
half that grapfruit juiced in same glass, BAM!
Half a lime juiced in that glass, HIT ME YEAH!
60ml of your Tequila, HOLA, COMO ESTAS
Top off with Jarritos, STIR THAT BITCH.

Drink. Fuck yes. MUCHO FUCKING FRESCO, AMIGO. Drink 4 of these and go watch Sicaro and realize Emily Blunt is the bad guy!

Fair point.

Never had a good margarita? Blanco is much better in a margarita than Reposado.

Hell, a good blanco can even be a great to sip. The citrusy flavor is fantastic and Id take it over gin any day.

Yeah I just...don't care for it. Anything I would use blanco for i would probably just use a mezcal. But if there's a thread in thsi whole forum that's "do what you like" it's this one.

The great thing about tequila is that you can find great quality tequilas for pretty cheap.
El Jimador and Espolon are my easy-to-find-in-an-ABC store go tos.
Patron and Don Julio arent anything special, they are smooth but not much flavor. IMO dont waste your money.
Id like to try Tapatio but I havent been able to find it, I think its a SW thing.
One of the Uno Dos Tres will probably be my next bottle. I havent seen them in VA but they have them in DC.

I normally buy whichever of those happens to be on sale. My favorite sipping tequila is Peligroso, which I love but can't get it here, have to go to NC.

I don't really like tequila, both for flavor and how it makes me an angry drunk, but I'll say Clooney's stuff surprised me in how much I didn't hate it.

My favorite drink:

- 4 parts aristocrat vodka. 1 part orange juice.

Or the classic :
- 1 part fireball

Is there any science behind certain drinks making people act differently?

There are a few decent bottle shops in DC.  I like hop, cask & bottle and cordial.  The latter you can mail order and pick up in store.

My go to has been Riazul Anejo.  I have some stuff I brought back from Arizona last year, too.

Science or no science, I agree it’s true, especially with me and Vodka. I’ve drank Vodka twice in the last 10 years; once I ended up talking to the law (before I was the law) and the second I ended up breaking my wrist.

My cabinet right now (a mixture of mine and now my brothers) is:

-Journeyman Last Feather Rye Whisky. A coworker found this at a speciality shop and bought it for me for some work I did at his house. If you can find it, I highly recommend it. Great sipping rye.
-Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky 18 year. Has some bite to it, but really good to sip. Bottle is almost gone Sad
-Mezcal Amores Reposado Tequila. Smokey flavor, but really good.
-Pierre Duchene French Brandy. Haven’t tried it yet, came from Russ.
-Patron Silver Tequila. You know what it tastes like.
-Crown Royal. I don’t care for it as much as I used to, but it was my older brothers favorite, so I keep a bottle around for nolstagia sake.
-Cointreau Triple Sec. Everyone’s had it.
-Letherbee Fernet. Great to add to coffee.
-Dolin Dry Vermouth
-6 different Bitters from Bitter Sling, haven’t tried any of them yet.

Old Forrester is my new cheapish bourb that is a go-to. Other than that I am into Gray Goose Martinis, 3 olives, and dirty. On a hot day, your recipe for success is 2 shots of Tito's in a highball glass, ice, then fill it water, and put a really thin lemon slice on the rim.

Yeah, I've drank Tequila in a quantifiable amount twice in my life (granted, i was chugging/beer bonging it in both examples), but both times ended up in me being 100% blacked out, and one ruined a friendship. (The later lead to some life changes)
