Project 2.Slow Mazda3

i've run platinum 5W-30 in both my cars for years. its in my xterra right now. have had lots of good oil analysis even up to 7000 mile runs. good oil for the money and should do fine for a hyperdrive.

check your oil level before going out just to be sure its topped off!

have fun

Well the car took the abuse on its first Hyperdrive without issue. Had a lot of fun. The video I got was 30 mins long so I'm going to have to edit it when I get time. Had no mechanical issues what so ever. Brakes didn't do bad, I was surprised for how well they did for being stock and pushing it pretty hard under my abilities. Everything thing went well and passed some people only to be passed by and e90 M3 on the back straight (surprise) haha. I learned a lot about the driving line thanks to my instructor Brian Maeng who was awesome

Was great seeing you this weekend and glad you had fun on the Hyperdrive! Just goes to show that you don't need anything exceptionally fast/fancy to get out and learn and have a blast  Hopefully we'll see you for another soon?

Oh.. Yeah I'm hooked. Once I get the header/wheels on. Then get the tune done and better brakes and I'll be doing full HPDE weekends.... It is a never ending downward spiral.... I can't wait for more hyperdrives in the mean time!

I can't even count how many times I couldn't drive my car after messing with my suspension when I really didn't have enough time do finish it. Shit happens.

That's what I'm worried about with my lift. Feel like I'll forget to order something.

Would have been nice if the primary 02 came off as easy as the secondary 02 with just a wrench turn. But, nope the primary doesn't want to come out no matter the amount of PB blaster, heat, breaker bar with a cheater bar, etc... Bolt is all rounded now so it will just sit in the stock header I guess. Rockauto needs to ship the damn part today

Did you use an 02 sensor socket? Be sure to throw some anti-seize on the new 02 before putting it back in.

Yup, it was in there so good it actually broke the 3/8 to 1/2 inch adapter for the socket to the breaker bar. I put anti seize on the secondary 02 threads and it is in the new header just sitting there.

May just get a straight pipe put in for the second cat while I'm waiting.

Looks like no 02 sensor until next week whenever. Rockauto says it *shipped* yesterday but in reality they just purchased an electronic tacking number and it hasn't left yet. Frustrating as shit.

Did I ever tell you about the time my Passat's alternator took a shit right before Thanksgiving break my junior year?

Yea.... VW thought it would be a great idea to offer a plethora of combinations for the car. Bosch or Valero? 90 or 120 amp? Oh and nobody keeps that shit in stock locally.

:finger:

Needless to say I spent my first 3 days of Thanksgiving week with my Passat on ramps not further then step 1:

"Remove front clip".

You'll be fine man. We've all be there done that.

I can attest to this, joey just keeps the M on jack stands for weeks at a time because he likes the way the car looks with the suspension fully decompressed
