Clayton aka Swayton

Hey guys,

I am Clayton and I have a factory Supercharged engine in my AE86 from an MR2. You guys may have seen me at the Millbrook High School Autocross event yesterday in my drift car with drift stickers all over it, including me wearing a blue drift shirt, haha.

Yesterday's event was my first ever non-drift event, and I have been drifting since 2007.

My car's name is Sway (now does my username make sense to you? haha) and she's has had a lot of work done to her by me.

Drift Car: 1985 Corolla GT-S (AE86)

Mods:
Motor:
1988 UDSM MR2's factory 4agze
1.6L Supercharged
Front-mount factory MR2 Intercooler
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
AC delete kit
Power steering delete kit
Washer fluid delete kit

Drivetrain:
Competition Stage 4 6-puck unsprung clutch (custom-made)

MR2 manual steering rack

Suspension:
Megan Racing Coilovers: Street Series
Suspension parts sandblasted and painted (tension rods, brackets, control arms, sway bars, everything else)
Prothane High Performance Urethane Complete Bushings Kit

Wheels:
15x7 Unknown Knockoff Meshies (1 set)
15x7 Konig Rewinds (1 set)
14x7 Supra rims (1 set)
14x6 stock pizza cutters (2 sets)

Interior:
Bone stock and complete
...along with a boost gauge custom-fitted

Accessories
Sub-ready setup and Pioneer speakers and JVC head unit
crappy HIDs and black projector lenses

Sway has done 3 events in the past 4 days, the first 2 were drift events on 9/10 and 9/12, then the autocross event on 9/13.

Thanks guys!

The pics with the shredded tires were from 9/10 and 9/12, respectively. I couldnt find enough tires to mount in time to go to the track on the second day, lol.

The first event, I had 8 hours to drift (only 2 people shared the track), but I blew 5 sets in 6 hours, so I went home 2 hours early, haha.
The second event I was there for under 4 hours (had about 15 drifters) and I blew my third and final set with only 3 minutes left of the event, so it was perfect timing. Everyone left 20-60 mins early, so I had the whole track to myself, so constantly drifting for 20 straight minutes was AWESOME!

I like it, clean underbody and looks like its prepped well. Do you use new tires or do you do the typical grassroots drifter thing of scrounging at Merchants in the back? Merchants in Tysons, BWT in Vienna are both good places and are friendly to you picking out any tires that were thrown away, and trust me there are some good sets that people are idiotic to throw away.

Thanks Scotty B!

Yeah DJ, I search back lots for tires. I have quite a few hookups from my mechanic friends, but I ask around to check their back lots. I dont believe in spending money on tires I'm gonna intentionally ruin... I cant drift well with the mindset that "i just bought these tires!" haha. I ruined a total of 16 tires in the past 4 days and I have a total of 22 sitting at home that I need to go dump, haha. I'm officially out of drift tires at this moment.

Tire dumpster diving is a lot of fun! I found a full set of brand new 275/40 R17 Nexxens! I see nothing wrong with them and my friend that works at the shop said the same thing! Some baller said he didnt like the size and wanted to throw them away. I wish I could run that wide, haha, but I'm gonna pick them up and give them to a pro drifter buddy.

The rear fenderwells have also been sandblasted and painted black, that's the only car body work I have done so far.

i just realized that between the paint and the gold wheels your car is eerily like Blair's old 86. he is an older member who had an 86 notch. it was really a spitting image. someone around here has some old car show pics of it...good to have an 86 back in the club.
