Website Management/Ownership - Step Up or It Goes Away on March 1 |

Hi friends.
This has been a long time coming, but it's time that I officially and truly move on from administering mmsports.org and this forum. I've got a lot on my plate otherwise, and have been the de facto owner of this little piece of the internet since I was a sophomore in college, which was nearly 13 years ago.
The past few years in particular have shown that there is exactly zero interest from students in picking up ownership of this site and forum. The most I can get out of anyone is reimbursement for web hosting and domain registration fees each year, which works out to about $150/year. But regardless, it's all still in my name and if I don't update content on pages, update software, update plugins, etc then most of it doesn't get done. Taylor has helped with a few things (SSL in particular) but 90% of this has fallen to me.
The web hosting and domain registration both renew on March 15, 2021. If we do not have a clear new owner identified by March 1, I plan on letting everything lapse and the website and forum will cease to exist at that time. "Clear new owner" means you will identify a web host and transfer the site and domain 100% out of my name and ownership. I have enjoyed donating my time and energy to keeping the lights on, but I need to focus efforts elsewhere as I'm spread quite thin.
Thanks.

When/if you join, make it apparent who you are. Clever usernames are fun but we don't want to have to decode who you are.
Discord invite if anyone is interested. We have about 30 folks right now -- it's more customizable instantaneous communication than groupme but not intending to replace the forum. Shoot me a message if you have questions.

Ever wanted an infiniti G35 but can't afford that infiniti badge? Intro the Nissan Altima coupe 6 speed and my fiancee happens to be selling hers.
For real though, I have a theory, no proof, that it's an undercover G35... except slower (think like a miata but faster). Which, good news, means fewer speeding tickets, so you can eventually upgrade to a G35. It has a gas tank the size of a Nissan Titan's and seems to get near 35-40mpg hwy so you can drive the east coast (Bangor Maine to Miami FL) on 2.5 tanks of gas. It's also a clown car, when you fold the rear seats flat you can fit all of your college move in/ out possessions or any surfboard (under 6' 6") and plenty of ski gear right into it.
Deets
Mileage: 84,600
Ask: $6k (unless Carvana surges on us suddenly)
Trans: 6 speed manual. FWD
Location: in CT but passing through VA before turkey day and willing to deliver
Interior: Excellent condition aside from standard entry/exit wear.
Mechanical: No lights, runs great, cold AC just in time for winter. Did a cold idle start in 20 degrees the other day and zero complaints.
Includes: Weather Tech mats, cabin and trunk. Set of snow tires (might ask a little more).
Exterior: Scuffs/scratches on rear bumper (thanks parking attendants). Otherwise body in excellent condition. Garage kept.
Pics: Will send more pics to serious inquirers.

Keep On [Farm] Truckin' |

So.
Got a truck.
1992 Ford F-150. No immediately apparent rust beyond the bed being beat to death. Rear wheel drive, which is fine for hauling trash and mulch and stuff.
260,000 miles. Woof.
The good:
THE ENGINE. The 300 cubic inch (4.9l) inline six cylinder purrs like a kitten. It's newer than the rest of the truck and it shows. I had this engine in another truck before, and it missed a lot and occasionally backfired with it's stupid throttle body injection but this is a port fuel job and she's smooth as glass. This is the best truck engine Ford (and possibly anyone) has ever made and you can fight me on that. Hrsprs? Yes. Torques? Lots. But timing gears instead of a belt or chain, 8.8:1 compression means it will run on dog piss, and it's a rock-simple architecture. The last one I had I'd add oil whenever the rockers started to tick and I don't think I ever actually changed it. Just, you know, kept adding. "it's probably fine," I said to myself. I was right. I love this motor.
THE RUST. Or lack thereof. No frame or cab rust, the battery tray still, you know, exists. All good stuff.
THE PRICE. It was hella cheap, yo. Almost the same price as me renting the moving truck. Crazy.
THE SEAT. It's a big blue bench seat that's not all tore up to shit.
The bad:
IT'S OLD AND YOU KNOW IT. No airbags or power anything.
THE TRANSMISSION: Apparently original E4OD makes a pretty godawful grind around second gear. It'll grenade on me one day BUT NOT TODAY so that's what tow insurance is for.
THE 'LECTRICS: Where to begin. So every time I turn off the truck the radio loses power and defaults to "demo mode" when I turn it on. It had a spotlight installed at some point "but it's got a blown fuse"...yeah no shit, when I turn on the headlights the radio dies and when I turn on the windshield washer the wipers start running and don't turn off. It also had a light bar installed at one point by whatever Yee-yee boi owned this thing
SPEAKING OF SAID YEEYEEBOI:
Good fucking grief.
So, FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS. Get rid of those goddamn stickers. They're good valley camo but I don't want any police attention, and those thin <color> line flags are...woof. Not even really funny, these were definitely affixed unironically.
Second: I guess grab the meter and start hunting for this electrical crap. I actually hope I'll never need headlights but, better safe than blind.
Third: Prepare for transmission failure. Shifting into one of these gears is crunchcronchcrunchwrap supreme. I don't even want to pull the pan in case some metal shaving is jammed into a valve that's actually holding the whole thing together. So I'm just gonna, you know, troll craigslist for a trans.
So this isn't really a project thread. I anticipate it being more a "laugh as Rexy tries to keep this turd moving under its own power" thread. The Farm use plates are gonna stay, it's literally what I bought the truck for, and I believe I'm in compliance with the relevant state regulations.
So,

hey guys my name is mason and i’m a freshman looking into a business marketing major currently at jmu. my home town is around Philly so don’t know that many people around here yet. love anything about cars, literally anything. big mitsubishi guy but also appreciate the whole of jdm and euro, not so much domestic. i’m not so much mechanically inclined with these cars but I would really be interested in learning how to build these cars and stuff with some buddies or myself. I have a 1999 mitsubishi eclipse gsx currently which me and my pops bought as a roller for a project car. had it for two years now and it’s nearing being done but progress has slowed down lol. looking for a new daily currently as I just sold mine so hoping I can get into some type of tuner car so I can work on it and hang with you guys. I hope to see you guys soon and excited for what’s to come for MM.
my personal insta is @masonrio
my car insta is @1999eclipse

I normally go to Katies Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, Saturday mornings as it is always a wild place to see anything from Wayne Carrini checking out a BMW 507 to stance nation boys rolling through, there is a car for everyone (at least before covid) but after more than 5 years going religiously I saw the coolest car I think I have ever seen and it wasn't even at Katies. I was running errands today in the 4Runner and a Guntherwerks 993 pulled up beside me at a stoplight. To most people this would look like a modified 993, but the who's who of the zoo know how special it really is. I was awestruck and unfortunately did not get a video of it taking off, but I did get this picture
