I know we've talked about this in the past and now that it's finally getting warm I think we should really give it a shot. Natural Bridge and Eastside are both pretty close so we could definitely make a Friday night trip out of one of those.
So, any interest for this Friday night (April 2nd) since most people will be in town since we have the car show anyway? Even if you don't run your car it's a lot of fun to spectate and see some pretty fast cars/bikes. They usually wrap up around 10 so we would be home by 11 at the latest.

Hmmmmmm...... I've really been wanting to do a drag strip. I'll definitely consider at least going to watch, and possibly running.

I'd go. Not gonna pay to run the Otter and be told it's slow... But I'd definitely be in to watch and take pix.

Oh come on... You have MM's official straight line car so you better be running it
And I forgot to mention a lot of tracks let you in to spectate for free with a college ID and it's usually around $10 to run as many times as you want

In if you guys happen to leave after 6pm or so
well i am in! details? is the strip 1/8th or 1/4, helmet required?
Success represents the 1% of your work which results from the 99% that is called failure.

They're both 1/8 but it's still lots of fun. I think you only need a helmet if you run below 8 seconds but you might want to bring one just in case since your car is pretty quick.

I didn't want to beat on my car this soon after autox, but I'm still thinking about it. But like I said, count me in to watch.

Yeaaaaaa I think you'll be fine. If my weak Jap trans and diffs hold up to 5200 RPM awd launches I think you have no room to be scared

I called Eastside today and they are only doing Test and Tune on Saturday so it looks like Natural Bridge. That's ok though its only a little farther and from what I've heard they have a larger turnout usually so it might be a little better for spectating.

I would really like to take the Torino to a strip but I have no tachometer

and when I turn on the headlights the temp gauge goes crazy so I don't like driving it at night lol.

So I guess the question is- Is it worth it? Driving two and a half hours or so to watch people run? What kind of cars should I expect to see out running?
