MM Drag Day @ MIR - 7/14/06

I know we're not traditionally a club that is big into drag racing, but I went once last fall and had a decent time.

Cost: $20, you get a few runs depending on how busy it is.
Details: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mirdrag.com/v2/schedule/calendar/06-07/060714.htm">http://www.mirdrag.com/v2/schedule/cale ... 060714.htm</a><!-- m -->

Last time I got there a little late, got one practice run in, and then bracket-racing started. Looks like the same setup, but don't kill me if I'm wrong. A buddy from work his taking his VR4, I'm taking the STi, G is gonna take the bike, and Mike is playing his Nancy card. I plan on leaving work a little early for it, since traffic getting down there always takes forever.

Damnit, so close. I have to figure out what the fuck is wrong with my car. I had gotten everything on and the car was running and boosting perfectly. Then I hit a fucking lake of water and now my car runs like dogshit. Why oh why, then I lose my fucking keys, and a headlight goes out (probably water hitting my lightbulbs) the water literally was over my hood. Yes I didnt see it until I hit it.

Have fun guys, I most likely wont make it out, unless I somehow get this fixed.

It'd be dope if you did stock vs. the AP Stage 1 map. Only if you have experience launching I guess. I know I'll probably try a couple different methods, which would ruin any results.

LoL BJ... You found me. Yea, I'll be running Stage 1 by then.. perhaps Stage 2 if I can decide on a downpipe in time. :wink:

I doubt I will see any real time improvement considering Stage 1 only really helps smooth out the power curve and more higher gear potential... Not to mention I've never really practiced launching this car.

When's the last time anyone hooked their bike 8 feet to either side while going full throttle in a straight line? Anyone?

When was the last time you went 0-130 at full throttle?

Where's a safer place to do it than a dragstrip?

Always a first time. I've gone from around 75 to 145 and that wasn't hairy at all other than the kink.

I'd almost feel safer on the street than a dragstrip.

Concrete walls hurt.
