as has already been said.... take lap 1 VERY slow. i've spun on warmup laps at what i considred slow speeds on the hankooks. lap 2, build up a bit more. lap 3 you should be ready to flog it.
as far as knowing when they're losing traction? ytou'll start sliding... take it easy at first, you'll figure out their limit.
when they are heat cycled out you'll know as well... they just won't freaking stick.
