Nexen Tires?

never heard of them

doesnt mean they are bad, just unknown. Falkens were unknown when the legendary Azenis 215 was released

with a max speed of 200mph they've gotta be awesome! i too have not ever heard of them. sporting a treadwear rating of 340 i don't think they can have much grip.

That's weird, They have the same temp and Traction as an RA1 but over 300% more treadwear...

the temp and traction values mean nothing in regard to cornering ability.

Temp and Treadware are general really. It's one of those "anything above X gets an A or a double A".

Well, treadwear is a percentage over (or under) the number of miles it takes for the tread to be gone compared to some test tire.

Temp is the tire's ability to dissipate heat (seems a bit more arbitrary).

Traction is the tire's ability to stop a vehicle in a straight line on a wet pavement.

and Toyo changed the RA1's treadwear from 40 to 100 w/o changing the compound... :roll:

and mazda changed the hp rating of the rx8 (i think ford did this with a mustang too, no?) without changing the motor as well. :roll:

Didn't that come with the new SAE ratings? Not so much a changing of the HP, just the way it was measured.

the mustang and the RX8 were different reasons (RX8 was emissions related IIRC), the new SAE stuff is just starting to change now
