O I know that...more reason to be careful. I'm not saying he "can't handle it" I'm just saying anyone with a big power car needs to be careful. Also, that is a lot of money but it is a lot of car for it. So if thatÔÇÖs what he is after it seems like a good deal. I am not living on my own, paying my own bills, that is why I am choosing to spend my every last dollar on cars right now. Because I can. But when I am out on my own, paying for a house and working all the time, 1/3 of my income would be hard to throw at a car. Think it through feersty, if that is what u need and want go for it!

Just because we didnt say "omg ttiiiiiiiiiiite go for it doggg!111!1" doesnt mean we're hating. Most of us have put ourselves into shitty financial situations due to cars - whether it be payments, insurance, poor choices, etc - and it sucks.

Maeng had been out of school with a good job for 2 years and, IIRC, had just gotten a raise when he bought his STi.

That appears to be in my direction. I wasn't hating on him ok, goddamn it. I don't have a problem with Feersty. I was making a general statement. It is true that huge number of the big three boosted 4-drs on the market right now have been getting people into trouble. I know this is all about how you drive a car, I was not trying to imply that feersty is going to be wreckless. Why did that have to be turned into a hating statement? i agree. I don't have a doubt that Feersty can handle this power. It's still driving, it does have significant power, but driving recklessly doesn't require a high-horsepower car. I completely understand his desire to own a nice car, i'm the same way.

I think F33rsty's taking the right path and saving money first. I know if i only had the old vdub i'd want something nicer to tote people around if necessary and for other social reasons in addition to my own satisfaction.

Whatever Feersty decides to get, I'm sure it will be nice.

However, in my own situation, I would be slow to commit to such a large financial burden. Also, I would be worried during autosports with a nice car that I owe money on. Just me though. I'm much more in the school of buying a old car that was nice in its day. I had a 6 year old Maxima that I got for cheap with leather, bose audio, climate control etc etc. Old ass 4th gen prelude VTEC and now old ass MR2. They were all nice cars that were fun, cheap and if I wrecked it, I coud walk away without sweating it. Also, I only had liability on all of them so I saved a bunch on my car insurance.

i've been thinking about this with my Teg, right now i have full coverage...i think i'll make that call in January when my term runs out and i need to reapply.

i think kbb value is at 5600 or so, so i feel like any major accident will total it.

I know this is OT, but if the accident is someone else's fault will i get money for collision? I thought collision was just for your own fault. (i feel like an idiot for asking that, but i'm not sure)
