"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

when I am in "need" the internet doesn't deliver fast enough ... I'm away from the house 14 hours a day Monday - Friday... I have to execute Saturday and Sunday, not wait for stuff.

My leaf blower was delivered on a Monday while I was at work and I'll execute with it this weekend. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Interesting, did you try bleach on the moss first? My rental has a bunch of moss growing on the front steps.

I think bleach is non-discriminant in what it kills, so I haven't tried it since most of our moss is in the backyard. White vinegar and salt supposedly works on everything, but I haven't tried it yet for the grass growing in sidewalk cracks. That's the one downside of iron - it's not killing grass in places you don't want grass.

White vinegar, salt, and a little dish soap will kill most things.

My dad tried bleach on his moss once. Didn't do anything if I recall. What are the steps made of? Brick? Get a long propane torch from harbor freight? I have no experience if this works but sounds like it could be fun

we have moss on the roof. the "old" trick is to use copper sheet near the top and the down spouts. the oxidation of copper apparently kills moss and inhibits growth. I'm not sure if you have the ability to do that or how you would do that... but my project this early summer is to get up on the roof and get my sheets laid just under my shingles.

that's what i used on the bottom of the teardrop camper. really easy going on, simple cleanup, i think 2 coats and you're probably in great shape coverage wise.

Yup, copper kills lots of stuff.

I sprayed this weed with the iron solution. You can see what it does to moss after only one hour. Crazy how well this stuff works on summer things... but I will will admit there are certain weeds that require two applications.

I tried the vinegar/water/salt solution. Let you know when I go back in 2 weeks to check on it.

Now that my main level remodel is done, I could turn my attention and budget to the garage. Everything about it was shit, shit old unpainted drywall, single light bulb, etc. Lots of work... paint, lights, storage, getting everything off the floor, a place to work on shit, etc, etc. But its done and pretty happy with it. I dont plan on putting a car in there but its possible as long as its miata-sized in a pinch.
Before, with the new lights added

Had a similar problem with lighting in my garage. And it actually appears brighter in picture then it was. Here's my temporary solution until I finish my garage but that'll require insulation (because they drywall but don't insulate which makes perfect sense) then sanding and second coat of mud and paint and was thinking of doing some recessed lights but maybe just the led tubes. We'll see. Could actually do 4 of those cheap single bulb sockets like the one they have me and these ufo lights. One is plenty bright.

Its from garage deck, I think, similar but cheaper. Good product.
I dont think I would do recessed lights, not enough light output - the LED light fixtures were cheap ($16 ea, I think?) and the bulbs also cheap. I used 6 fixtures for a 1-car and I could have even gone with more.
Editz - I wish I had room for more storage above the garage door, its kind of wasted space otherwise. I think I have less than 12" between the door and the ceiling.

I was hoping to get more but the drivetrain for the door sits higher than the tracks which I wasn't expecting. Was fighting for every inch and even tried to level the drive track because it wasn't and realized it wasn't because the door will hit the track if the front isn't 2 inches higher than the rear.
That ufo light is rated at like 12000 lumens which I think is close to our more than the Costco shop lights. And yeah I thought the lumens on recessed was too low. Might still do them under the shelf above door just because anything super bright might be kind of low and in your face....

Thoughts on not doing the finish mud/tape/sand and just send it and paint the garage.
How bad would that look?
