The GTI is the best in the segment.

My GTI is the worst GTI.

I like the GTI. My GTI is more broken than it should be. Everyone else with a GTI doesn't have these issues. I want to be like them.

I'd argue they are actually miles ahead of your GTI because ti's always in the shop.....  But yeah, those cars are crap overall.

This is a repeating cycle, whether you realize it or not. It's not just all of us being being assholes... it's us trying to help and *then* being assholes when it's clear you don't actually want advice.

Have some confidence in your direction/decisions and you wont have the peanut gallery constantly chiming in to tell you what you should do.

The GTI does very well in the snow... to a point. If you ever get stuck, just give up. Even with traction control all of the way "off" in my car, it will refuse to rev past 1500 if spinning in the snow, so you can give up any hope of muscling your way out of anything. Really disappointed. I guess it's for safety, but having the engine completely cut power like that is so infuriating. I hit some deep snow and the car didn't want to budge. All it needed was a little gas and some sawing at the wheel to get out, but it wouldn't let me. Modern cars are stupid.

Do you have to hold the button down for like 30 seconds? Cause on most cars, just pushing the TC button doesn't fully defeat the TC, you have to hold it down.

This. Mustang operates exactly like this. Pressing the button just dials back the traction control sensitivity and leaves stability control enabled. Hold it for 5 seconds and it turns everything fully off and (annoyingly) sets the steering assist to its lowest setting.
