Yup and you want to get real BS? That personal property tax relief in VA did not apply to my diesel truck because it is over on gross weight. So "overtaxed" in this case actually means I was paying more % wise for my diesel truck in taxes than that guy with the $1M car. Can I whine and cry now about being more overtaxed than the Veyron owner?

My buddy at the Ford dealer (who is the sales manager and presumably knows his shit) said Ford covered the PP tax for leases in Virginia. I'm not sure how they do it, but it was a big incentive to lease the truck instead of purchase it. I have not seen a bill, have had the truck since early March, and already seen/paid the bills for the Range Rover and trailer. We leased the Highlander and paid sales tax on the full value of the car at signing, plus the county sent Toyota Financial the personal property tax like a year later to the tune of almost a grand which they just added to our bill. I can see Ford eating or hiding the PP tax in the lease terms, but it's interesting how it doesn't show as registered to you with the DMV. I may need to go look at leasing a GT350...

Mazda paid, and we owe. We just add a chunk to our monthly and pay it through the year vs lump summing it. Mazda hasn't complained, so we keep doing it. One thing we miss about our old location, they split pptx into 2 bills, our current place is all at once.

I wonder how this works with something like the Volvo rental/not really a lease program, then.
At $650/mo there's a bit of a sticker shock on the price, but you dont have any other bills besides fuel.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Volvo S60 R design
$860 month Tax, tags, title due at sign Insurance provided by Liberty Mutual 15k yr 2yr lease Early trade ok at 12months 10/20/30k mile service included, plus wear items. I didn't see anything about pptx, id assume it's on the buyer as well. It appears to be flat rate insurance regardless of location. So you could save money if you live in a crazy high insurance location. But, it's just a short term lease with insurance wrapped in.

Rex agreeing with a video that talks about how ridiculous taxes are.
![]() I'm all for death to taxes, but he glosses over the part where they're breaking the law by effectively saying, "oh, well, everyone else does it." Also, lol @ hardship if the tax bills come due because you didn't plan on paying the taxes. We pay annual tax based on NADA values of our cars, it's ridiculous, and I still think he sounds like an entitled douche. Thinking a tax is fucked up isn't the same thing as a defense for not paying that tax.
