New t-Shirt Design
#1
So we want an updated design for t-shirts to wear around campus. I feel as if the current design is too bland to attract attention and have people interested and aware of our club. We worked with a fellow student designer to come up with this, and had it printed by a local shop in Harrisonburg. I want to get inputs from Alum and students on this design, what you might improve, change, or if you like the design as is. Open to all criticisms, but remember, I can't draw so any new ideas I would have to outsource unless an alum has some hidden artistic abilities.

I like the shirt to just buy on the side, but for a main club shirt. It needs to be redone. Jackson shared the original design and I think a real artist should be contacted to get a mock made for it.

You can't have the club shirt being two photos photoshopped together. The current design you have is so low effort, it's not even funny.

I am not a fan. I think if you are going to use the Duke Dog you need more of a cartoonish type car image. The GT3 RS looks out of place.

You also may need to clear the Duke Dog use with JMU. I am not sure how that works with licensing and all that jazz.

Edit:

Taylor nailed my thoughts. The sketch he posted is what I was alluding to.

Looks alright but yeah the sketch is much better. I don't know what value there would be in getting the sketch done any more professionally, it looks great. Trace it in illustrator or whatever and print it.

I don't disagree.

Yea I would rock the sketch, except have the front wheel turned less because that is not possible on anything other than a drift car, and I think drifting is lame.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Love using the Duke dog. Do not like the one that was made. Pretty much what everyone else said. Sketch is cool. I'm not an old school porche fan so I would say a different car but I'm sure everyone else likes them. No cones. Too busy and no reference.

Seeing the sketch makes me want an Ed Roth style Ratfink/Hotrod design but with Dukedog/Racekah

Agreed.  The shirt is pretty terrible.

I somewhat like the silliness of a dog wearing a crown drifting a convertible 911.

Glad JMU's approved the dog, though I'd be surprised if they'd approve a ratfink version. You have to have some limits protecting a trademark.

I like the bmw idea, but I think the Porsche is more fitting for the current atmosphere of JMU and MAAP. I vote keep the Porsche. I also think it's more distinguishable unless you're going F1, Shifter Kart, or something more obviously racing.

A GTLM car...C7r, 911 RSR, Ford GT, M8 GTE?

GTLM cars would be recognizable as a street car, but in race car trim = Moar better
