Nope. Went out to dinner, backed into a sloped parking spot, then decided to take a picture before walking in. My guess is it's still there.

Random question....can you open the sunroof with the BMW bars and your roof box on?

The cross bars on the Prius work for the wagon, I just need to get the new feet to work with the wagon. Per Yakima, you shouldn't operate the sunroof when the Yakima bars are installed.

I was just curious if that's the case for the factory bars as well.

I've opened it with bars and no box; as recently as last weekend. I've also tilted it up to vent without issue. I haven't tried with a box, but the box sits above the bars so I'd think it would work.

Note my bars are installed in factory rails and you mentioned feet. Not sure if you meant rail adapters or actual feet.

Thanks Chris. Yea, I meant rail adapters.

Hrmmmm, maybe I can find height measurements for the Yakima setup. I'd rather stick with my current rails and keys/locks, vs going OEM rails. Good to know it can open with the OEM rails.

The BMW sunroofs go inside the roof (under the skin, between it and the headliner) so I'm not sure why you couldn't open it.

Not sure about others, but the F31 has a tilt up function. My guess is they just say don't open it at all so they're cleared of liability.

So it turns out you guys were right - the rear view mirror selector controls whether the right mirror tilts down. It's opposite than what I would think in that the right mirror tilts when the selector is on the left.

Played a bit of weekend warrior today and did a Home Depot gardening run this morning. I always seem to misjudge the size of the trunk, so I pulled out the car seat that's probably been there for like a year. There is all manner of nasty kid shit down there... and we don't even really let him eat in the car. I also wanted to show everyone what the seat looks like, cause I think we debated the need for a seat protector. Maybe they'll return to normal?  Rolleyes Anyway, I threw six bags of 2 cu.ft. of mulch, plus a few other things, and I probably had room for 6-8 more. Yes, I keep a sheet stowed in the trunk floor for shit like this. No shame in my game - I literally vacuumed it 20 minutes earlier. The good things about dragging my ass out of the house at 8 am on a Sunday, is I got to drive the car in Sport mode with near zero traffic. That matters when you live in the city... and it was glorious. Correction: no traffic, no wife, no kid, and not even a car seat. Muy bueno. I have no idea what we'd even consider replacing this thing with. I <3 it.

Those look like some serious indents in the leather. My parents never had leather in their cars but my uncle did and swore by a seat protector. Think I would go with it just got the piece of mind.

If that seats returns to normal I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also +1 on the sheet. I throw down a moving blanket any time I do any home stuff. Rather shake out a blanket than vacuum that shit automotive trunk carpet.

We have these....

They have a tacky bottom, they have never caused the seat to shift around and I have no indentations.

We couldn't get a center mounted rear-facing to stay put, but we have one of them behemoth crush zone ones. It just wasn't possible to ratchet it down tight enough because the base is bigger than the part it's sitting on.

The rear dents have mostly bounced back, but the front ones are pretty aggressive. It doesn't help it's like 40°. We're gonna swap cars for a few days and let it breathe, then try again with the seat protector. Worst case, I'll take it to detailing shop I use and have them condition it.

We're about five months away from going front facing and that'll be a lot easier to cinch down.

I had a similar but less bad dent in my rear leather from when a seat belt got pinned under the rear seat when it was flipped down. I hit it with Pinnacle leather conditioner and it all eventually came out. I was worried about part of it because it had looked like it almost stamped the leather, but it came out.

BMW sells a fitted rear seat cover for the E90/E91, probably available for F31 too.

First an electric mower and now I can also blame this on Justin.

Also, the seat indents were mostly gone when we reinstalled the car seat a week later. Those deep ones on the right weren't quite recovered - it looks like the leather is somewhat stretched. We did manage to get it installed tightly with a seat cover this time around, so I'll chalk it up to noob status. I'll treat the leather when we turn him to forward facing, which will be at the end of summer. Maybe some warm weather will do the leather good in the meantime.
